Compiled from 13 blog posts read in fullSources →
Myeonggaek Yangkkochi is a lamb-skewer and Chinese-food place in the Polyplaza 5 building in Okjeong's central shopping strip, Yangju, opened around the turn of 2026. You cook the skewers yourself over a charcoal grill at the table; ten plain skewers are 16,000 won, guobaorou 22,000 won and malatang 12,000 won. We read 30 posts from 27 December 2025 to 20 October 2026 and counted 13 as actual meals. The other 17 describe no meal and repeat the same search keywords in the same pattern.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The lamb smell is what posts talk about most: six said there was no gamey odor and none said there was. One writer who normally dislikes lamb skewers said there was no smell at all. One post found the meat lean, which fans of fatty, rich lamb might miss.
- You order on a tablet kiosk at each table, according to four posts. One said there is no paper menu at all; another liked choosing from the photos on a first visit.
- Expect a wait at dinner. One post waited 15 minutes behind three groups at about 7:30 on a Friday; another found every table but one taken on a Monday evening, with a line forming soon after. One regular who goes early or late has never seen a line, and one post only thought there might be one. Three posts mention separate waiting seats out front.
- Seven posts called the room clean, usually adding that it had only just opened.
3 more
- The guobaorou batter divides posts: four called it crisp, one even after it cooled, while one found it chewy rather than crisp. One post that ate the fried vegetable dish found it soggy.
- Two posts say the grill turns the skewers automatically, so they cook without you touching them.
- Six posts went with family — a husband, a nephew, children. Two brought kids: one child ate all the dumplings, while two four-year-olds gave up on the garlicky eggplant after a bite. One post was a work dinner.

Only one post described parking from experience: two hours free in the building's basement garage, and easy. Two more copied the same two-hour line from the listing, and two just wrote that parking is available.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 13 posts read) |
|---|
We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — nobody wrote about it. Two posts only noted that it is on the ground floor.
Nobody said where the toilet is. Two posts list separate men's and women's toilets, but that was copied from the listing, so we didn't count it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 17 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Nobody described getting there by subway or bus. One post said it is next to the Okjeong CGV, across from the Mom's Touch building.
- Visits with friends only appear in the promotional template posts, which we didn't count. No post went alone.
- As for what a meal costs: two women paid 54,000 won for plain skewers, guobaorou, a beer and a soju, and Set A (20 skewers plus guobaorou) was 52,000 won. One post found it not expensive; another said skewer prices have risen everywhere and this place matches the rest of Okjeong.
- Seven posts give the same hours, noon to 2 a.m., and two of them say it is open every day — all copied from the listing. A post from 6 January 2026, just after opening, gave 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; from 22 March on, posts say noon to 2 a.m.
- Four posts list the phone number as 0507-1351-8901 (one early post had 031 861 8889). Reservations appear only in copied listings; no post that actually ate there booked ahead. The stories about friendly phone booking all come from the template posts.
- Many posts about this place are templated promotion. A January 2026 blogger complained that fake promo writers were reusing their photos. We left out 17 posts that repeat the same keywords with no prices or dish names.
