Bar

Makhaneunjip

막하는집 Mak-haneun jip is literally 'the place that does things any old way' — mak means roughly or without fuss; regulars shorten it to Makjip.

Compiled from 10 blog posts read in fullSources →

A cooking-focused drinking bar on a side street in Okjeong's R6 strip in Yangju, open from 5 pm into the small hours. People come for soju or beer with dishes like seafood hangover pasta, clams steamed in rice wine and gambas, and a lunchbox of free snacks arrives as soon as you sit. The only priced dish is the seafood pasta at 17,000 won. Six posts describe two connected halls with two separate doors. We read 11 posts from October 2024 to October 2026; 10 describe an actual visit.

Rows without a count: 2 of 5 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eight of the ten visit posts say a snack box came the moment they sat down — acorn jelly, cucumber with chili dip, fried dumplings and potatoes, much the same from 2024 to 2026. Five posts say a refill costs 2,000 won; one says the box alone is good for a bottle of soju.
  2. Two halls share one kitchen and have their own doors — one visitor first took them for separate bars. Three posts say it is roomier than it looks from outside; one says one hall is the noisy group side and the other the quiet side. Two mention full-height folding windows that open to the street.
  3. Five posts call what they ate spicy: all three who had the seafood pasta, plus one each for the roe stew and the tteokbokki, whose heat is adjusted on request. One post that stuck to gambas and dried squid found the food mild.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is gibon anju (기본 안주) — 8 of 10 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 10 posts

Parking is unclear. Two copied info blocks say there is no lot of its own — use the street or the public car park. One visitor who drove says street and public parking were fine. Another post claims parking is easy, but that writer walked.

Where it is

Map showing where Makhaneunjip is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No one described the floor; only the address says ground floor.

We don't know about steps at the door or wheelchair and stroller access; six posts mention the two entrances but none describe the threshold.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Noise depends on when and where: one post says weekends get loud with second-round crowds, another says one hall is loud and the other quiet.
  • No one wrote about waiting; one couple arrived around opening and found it quiet. We don't know about Friday nights or weekends.
  • No one described getting there by bus or rail; two locals walked.
  • Visitors came as couples (two posts), with family (two) or with friends (one); no one came alone.
  • One family brought their children, who loved the salmon; we know nothing about high chairs.
  • Opening hours come only from copied info. All agree on a 5 pm start; posts from August 2025 on give 2 am closing on weekdays, 3 am Friday and Saturday, 1 am Sunday, while an October 2024 post said 1 am. The day off was every other Monday in two August 2025 posts and every Monday in two 2026 posts, so it seems to have changed in between. Last orders are given as midnight, 1 am or 2 am.
  • The only prices given are 17,000 won for the seafood pasta (October 2026) and 2,000 won for a snack refill. No one wrote what a night cost, and we don't know the prices of the clams, tataki or gambas.
  • Two posts list the phone as 031-928-5878 and one as 0507-1390-5078; no one said whether they take reservations.
  • One August 2025 post is tagged as sponsored. A February 2026 post earns affiliate fees on linked products, not from the bar. Two posts say they paid their own way.
