Kkangtong Dwitgogi

깡통뒷고기 Kkangtong means a tin can, and dwitgogi ('back meat') is the odd off-cuts butchers once kept for themselves; here they are grilled over charcoal.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

Kkangtong Dwitgogi is a charcoal-grill pork place on the ground floor of Hangil Plaza, next to the CGV in Okjeong's central shopping district in Yangju. Several posts call it the second branch of a Dongducheon shop. The usual order is the 600g Kkangtong Hanpan platter: 17 of the 28 visits ordered it. It cost 39,800 won in posts through June 2026 and 43,000 won from August. Meals end with cold or spicy young-radish noodles (6,000 won). We read 30 posts dated February 2025 to October 2026. Of those, 28 record a visit, one is the owner's own introduction, and one is about the beef restaurant in the same building, so we set it aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Steamed egg comes free. Seventeen posts say it arrived on the house or as part of the basic setting, though it is listed at 4,000 won. Only one post, from November 2025, says they added it themselves.
  2. Expect a wait in the evening. Ten posts mention a queue, and one couldn't get in at all on a weekend evening. Four went straight in that day or didn't say. Four posts describe writing your name and phone number by hand on a sheet or table at the entrance, so you can browse the nearby Daiso or Olive Young while you wait. Four mention somewhere to wait, such as chairs or a waiting zone out front, and a February 2026 post says a kerosene heater was left on outside. Nobody gives a wait time in minutes.
  3. Six posts say the pork has no off smell.
  4. Six posts describe the cuts as thick. One likens the neck to steak, and another says to cut the meat once it is partly cooked and turn the pieces to finish.
2 more
  1. Many go back. Eight posts are by repeat visitors, from a third visit to about ten. One went back a few days later with the kids.
  2. Seven posts call it good value. One March 2025 post itemizes a meal for two at 70,000 won: a half platter, beef tripe, radish noodles and three drinks.

Parking

Posts saying you can park2 of 27 posts

Parking is in the building's underground garage. Thirteen posts mention parking, but most repeat a copied info line. Two say they parked there themselves without trouble. Two note street parking nearby is fine after 8 p.m., and one says to give your plate number at the till to get free parking.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 4 (of 27 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read)

It is on the ground floor. Four posts place it on the first floor of Hangil Plaza, the building next to the CGV, and one says it faces the elevator.

No one says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That doesn't mean there's a problem; we just don't know.

Only one post covers the restroom: it is in the shared building outside the restaurant, and the tissue and door code are posted at the front. Another post lists separate men's and women's restrooms, but that line was copied from the listing, so we don't rely on it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The platter got pricier. Posts from June 2025 to June 2026 say 39,800 won (one April 2026 post says 39,000), and three posts from August 2026 on say 43,000. The cuts changed too: 2025 posts list neck, nape and jowl, while posts from June 2026 list neck, nape and skirt. One post also says the soybean stew got richer after it switched to a river-snail version.
  • Opinions on space differ. Two posts found it cramped: one counted about ten tables and called it very tight, the other said the tables sit close together. One post from March 2025 counted 10 to 11 tables and called it clean and roomy. Another counted eight four-seat tables plus about three round ones.
  • No one describes getting there by train or bus, so we don't know. Posts only say to look for the building next to the CGV.
  • Seventeen posts list hours of 3 to 11 p.m., mostly every day, and ten give last orders at 10 p.m. All of these are copied info blocks rather than hours anyone checked. Only two mention closing days: one copied 'no days off', and one guessed there are none.
  • Eight posts give the phone number 0507-1391-3994, while two June 2025 posts, one of them the owner's, give 0507-1391-3997. On reservations, one visitor says they aren't taken, and one post copies 'reservations available' from the listing.
  • You generally grill your own. One post notes it isn't a place where staff grill for you, though the owner pitched in that day; another says the owner sometimes helps when it's quiet.
