Jjukkumi Ajeossi Okjeong

쭈꾸미아저씨 옥정점 Jjukkumi Ajeossi means 'Mister Webfoot Octopus' — jjukkumi is the small octopus the house stir-fries, ajeossi a familiar word for a middle-aged man; this is the Okjeong branch of the chain.

Compiled from 11 blog posts read in fullSources →

The Okjeong branch of a stir-fried webfoot-octopus chain, in the Polyplaza 4 building in Okjeong's central shopping district, Yangju. Octopus is cooked on an iron plate with pork belly, brisket or shrimp, then the leftover sauce becomes fried rice. A June 2026 post lists 16,000 won for plain octopus, 17,000 with pork belly and 18,000 with brisket or shrimp, per portion; two posts say the first order must be at least two portions. Steamed egg and corn cheese sit around the rim of the plate. We read 11 posts from June 28, 2025 to October 12, 2026, all from actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All seven posts that describe the table setting say a mussel broth comes free, along with fries, perilla leaves, pickled radish, seaweed, flying-fish roe and a mayo sauce. One post says the broth can be refilled once; one says extra roe costs 2,000 won, and another that extra fries and roe are charged.
  2. Eight posts call it spicy. The line that the default heat is about that of a cheongyang chili is what diners were told, so we pass it on as hearsay. Posts say you can ask for it hotter or milder, and several temper the heat with bean sprouts, steamed egg or corn cheese.
  3. Of the six posts that describe ordering, four say the staff cook at your table, so you just wait for it to be done. One post phoned ahead and found the plate already cooked on arrival.
  4. Five posts come from repeat visitors: one says at least ten times since moving to the area, one has been coming for ten years since newlywed days, one went back the very next week.

  1. Two posts note it is a chain branch; one says this branch adds shiitake mushrooms, unlike others.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 11 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 11 posts read)

One post says it is on the ground floor; one mentions a single outdoor table.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits; no post mentions it, which is not the same as saying there isn't one.

One post (June 2025) says the toilet is outside, in the building to the left, and to bring your own tissue. No one says whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Waits are mixed. One post waited 10 to 20 minutes every visit and says the crowd thins only after 8:30 pm; one walked straight in. Another got the last free table of about seven. Two posts call the room small; one says it is compact but the tables are well spaced.
  • We don't know how to get there by subway or bus; no post describes it.
  • Company varies with no pattern: one post each went as a group of four, with children, with a husband, and with a cycling group.
  • Opening hours appear to have changed. Two posts from June and August 2026 agree on 12:00–22:30 with a 14:00–15:00 break and Tuesdays closed; two from June–July 2025 list no closing day and disagree on closing at 23:00 or 2:00 am. All four are copied info blocks, so check before you go.
  • Prices have gone up: octopus with brisket was 68,000 won for four portions (17,000 each) in June 2025 and 18,000 a portion in June 2026. The one full bill we have, from June 2025, is 78,000 won for four portions plus two rice balls. One post says takeout comes as buy two, get one free.
  • Whether they take reservations is unclear: one post phoned ahead and ate right away, another says it doesn't know. The number 070-4063-8887 appears in two posts' copied info blocks.
