HOMAC

호맥 양주옥정점 Homaek Yangju Okjeong-jeom Homac joins hotteok (a griddled stuffed pancake) and maekju (beer) — the house serves large pastry-style hotteok as a beer snack.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

Homac Yangju Okjeong is a hotteok-and-beer pub in the Polyplaza 1 building in Okjeong's central shopping district, Yangju. It serves pizza-sized hotteok made from 110-layer pastry dough (14,500–16,500 won in the posts) with nachos, salsa and whipped cream, alongside draught beer and snacks such as tteokbokki, pasta and grilled squid. It opens around 7 pm, and many posts describe it as a second stop after dinner. We read 30 posts dated 18 December 2025 to 18 October 2026; 26 describe an actual visit, and one was set aside because it was about the Hapjeong branch in Seoul.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Posts disagree on noise: 4 found it quiet, 2 found it loud, and 1 was undecided. One said noise from the ground floor carries straight up because the floors are open to each other; another called it a lively, noisy beer hall. Of the quiet verdicts, two came from people sitting upstairs and one from an early-evening visit.
  2. A free bowl of twisted snack crackers comes when you sit down — 15 posts mention it. Two posts say they got refills while waiting for their hotteok.
  3. Ordering is by a tablet or kiosk at each table, according to 7 posts. One said the kiosk was confusing at first until a staff member explained it; two mention a cartoon on the screen showing how the hotteok is made.
  4. Couples are the most common: 8 posts went with a husband or boyfriend, 2 went alone, 2 with family, 2 with friends and 1 with a group. Both solo visitors sat at bar seats, one by the window and one upstairs. One post brought a child.
2 more
  1. Six posts, from March to October 2026, mention a buy-three-get-one offer on Kozel Dark bottles. Four mention a Naver receipt-review event, three of them saying it earns you a black-sugar ice cream.
  2. One June post found a little Santa's-village display upstairs. A March post also mentions Christmas ornaments, but we did not count it because the visit date is unclear. A December post said the place had a festive year-end feel.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 26 posts

Most parking information is the copied line about free parking in the building's basement garage. Only one post described parking there, saying there was plenty of space and they parked right away. Two posts say they came by car. None says how long parking stays free.

Getting inside

Second floor21 of 26 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 7 (of 26 posts read)

The pub is split over two open-plan floors. Of the 26 visit posts, 21 mention the upper floor and 7 say they sat on the ground floor. Several mention a coat rack upstairs, and several say water is self-service from a dispenser by the stairs. One post, describing a visit about a year earlier, said the upstairs was quite hot.

Floor: you enter at street level and there is an upper floor inside; 7 posts say they sat on the ground floor. No post mentions going downstairs.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. All we know is that much of the seating is upstairs, up a flight of stairs.

No post says whether the toilet is inside the pub. Four posts copied a listing line saying there are separate men's and women's toilets, but nobody described them.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices in the posts: 14,500 won for red-bean sugar hotteok, 15,500 for apple-cinnamon, 16,000 for choco-macadamia, 16,500 for cheese bulgogi, 11,900 for bunmoja tteokbokki and 13,900 for cheesy soup tteokbokki. Two posts called it expensive; three thought so at first but changed their minds once they saw the nachos and sauces that come with it. No post gave a bill total, so we don't know what a typical night costs.
  • No post says it came by bus or subway. One claims public transport is convenient, but that writer drove. One walked over after a stroll around the lake park, and another said it is within walking distance for Okjeong residents.
  • No post mentions queuing — that doesn't mean there's never a wait, only that nobody wrote about one. One post got the last free seats on the ground floor after 9 pm on a Friday, and another found it packed near midnight. One was told the hotteok would take about 15 minutes because orders had piled up.
  • Opening hours appear in 18 posts, all copied from listings. The most common version is Monday–Thursday 7 pm to midnight, Friday 7 pm to 2 am, Saturday 6 pm to 2 am and Sunday 6 pm to midnight, with last orders at 1 am on late nights and 11 pm otherwise. A few posts differ — some have Friday opening at 6 pm or Saturday at 7 pm. Two say it is open every day of the year.
  • Two phone numbers appear: 010-2235-2457 in seven posts from May to July 2026, and 0507-1387-2457 in three posts from October 2026. For reservations, one post copied a listing line saying bookings are taken, and another suggests calling ahead for groups.
  • A September 2026 post was told the okonomiyaki hotteok would soon be discontinued, and a June post said it sold out right after they ordered. We don't know whether it is still on the menu.
  • Of the 26 visit posts, 2 disclose sponsorship, 1 was a hosted review, 3 say the writer paid, and 20 say nothing either way. Many repeat the same 'Okjeong hot spot / Okjeong bar' keywords, so we counted only the parts describing what the writer actually experienced. One post on an adult-shop blog used photos taken from the listing and described nothing first-hand, so we left it out.
