Raw fishKorean

Hoebaragi

회바라기 A pun on haebaragi (sunflower): hoe is sliced raw fish and -baragi is one who keeps gazing toward something, so roughly a raw-fish gazer.

A raw-fish restaurant on the ground floor at the entrance of the R6 food street in Okjeong-dong, Yangju, across from a Cleantopia laundry. Order assorted sashimi and the table first fills with sides (clam soup, steamed egg, kimchi pancake, spaghetti, fish cutlet, tteokbokki), then the fish, then a spicy fish stew. Posts from January and August 2026 both put the extra-large platter at 68,000 won and the stew at 10,000 won. We read 15 posts from 10 November 2025 to 1 October 2026, all of them actual visits. The listed opening time moved from noon (November 2025) to 2 p.m. (early 2026) to 3 p.m. (from June 2026).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Two posts chose it specifically for going with children: one came because the kids do not eat raw fish and named the spaghetti, fish cutlet, dumplings and steamed egg as their food; the other says a child who cannot eat sashimi still ate plenty. A third, written without kids, noticed many family tables with children.
  2. Three posts say you order on a tabletop kiosk. One notes the extra-large platter appears only on the kiosk, not the paper menu; another found a no-salmon option there. One paid 2,000 won extra for steamed egg because the kiosk photo showed a stone pot, and got the same dish as the free one.
  3. Two posts say sides can be refilled, but steamed egg, kimchi pancake, dumplings, spaghetti and fish cutlet cost extra; a January 2026 post says the items marked in pink are 2,000 won each. One found the separately ordered spaghetti and cutlet came in bigger portions.
  4. Three posts mention a queue. A January 2026 post says people wait on chairs inside or outside; an August 2026 post recalls once waiting about 30 minutes; a December 2025 diner booked by phone around 6:30 p.m. and saw the next waiting party come in as they left. One weekly diary line saying the place was oddly empty sits right before the check-in but may refer to the previous venue, so we did not count it.

  1. Saltiness splits two to one: a June 2026 post found the steamed egg salty and the stew so salty they added water, a November 2025 post found the clam broth a bit strong, while a September 2026 post said the stew was seasoned just right.
  2. Three posts call the portions large: a company dinner of eight men found even the medium generous, and a family was surprised by the 68,000-won extra-large. One August 2026 post felt the platter was a little small.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 14 posts

There is no obvious lot. Of five posts that mention parking, one parked easily out front or in a side street, three either could not find the lot and used the street or called it cramped, and one walked but noted parking behind the building.

Where it is

Map showing where Hoebaragi is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post described the floor or any stairs; only the address says ground floor.

No one mentioned an entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; that means unknown, not absent.

No post said where the restroom is or whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Prices diverge on the medium platter: 38,000 won without salmon in January 2026, 48,000 won in August 2026. The extra-large was 68,000 won at both dates, so we cannot tell whether prices rose. The only whole-meal figure is 80,000 won for four sharing yellowtail in November 2025.
  • Seven posts list hours, mostly copied from listings. All agree on a 2 a.m. close with last orders at 1:30, but the opening time reads noon in November 2025, 2 p.m. in January to February 2026, and 3 p.m. in three posts from June to August 2026. Five posts from January 2026 on list Wednesdays as the regular day off; a November 2025 post says open daily.
  • Three posts give the phone number 0507-1335-3344, all inside copied info blocks; one December 2025 post says they booked by phone.
  • One post relays that outside alcohol is allowed for a corkage fee and outside food is not; this is hearsay, so we did not count it.
  • No post describes getting there by bus or train; writers either walked from nearby or drove. One says the sign is dark and hard to spot.
