Haekbap Yangju Okjeong-jeom
핵밥 양주옥정점 Haekbap is the chain's own contraction of haeksim siksa, a 'core meal', according to the brand blurb one post copied; Okjeong is the new town in Yangju where this branch sits.

Haekbap Yangju Okjeong is a branch of a Japanese rice-bowl and ramen chain on the ground floor of the Poly Plaza 1 building in Okjeong's central shopping district. Posts list the cubed-steak bowl at 12,900 won, the salmon bowl at 15,900 won and ramen at 11,000 won; the set version, which adds mini udon and two pieces of fried chicken, was 16,900 won in an October 2026 post. You order on a tablet at the table, the food arrives on a wooden tray, and you return the tray to the dish counter yourself. We read 30 posts dated 1 May 2025 to 1 October 2026. We set aside 3 that were really about other businesses, which leaves 27 first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You order from your seat: nine posts used the tablet or kiosk at the table. One writer who went with his Japanese wife appreciated that the kiosk could show the menu in Japanese.
- Seven posts went with children. Several ordered the mild tonkotsu ramen and fried chicken for the kids, and one said the honey-glazed cheese rice cake that comes with every meal was what her son liked best.
- Three posts saw high chairs (frog-shaped ones). One March 2026 post thought there were none, but admitted the baby was asleep and she didn't really remember.
- Seating is mostly tables for two. Nine posts described it: two- and four-seat tables, solo seats at the window or a bar counter along one side, and 'about 15 tables'. One sponsored post said there are only a few four-seat tables in the middle, and that staff push two-seat tables together when those are taken. Four posts called the room spacious, though a May 2025 post found the tables a little close together, which could be uncomfortable when it's busy.
4 more
- The karai and spicy miso ramens are genuinely hot; six posts called something spicy. One compared the spicy miso to Shin Ramyun, another found it quite fiery. On salt, one post found it heavily seasoned and suggested asking for less, while three said it wasn't too salty.
- Portions divide opinion. Six posts called them generous, but two of those are the same writer's account of a single visit. A regular who says she has tried more than ten dishes found portions small and suggested two people order three dishes; another post thought the plate looked small at first but left full.
- Five posts (two by the same writer) got a free can of soda for leaving a receipt review. One later tried the capsule-toy draw as well and was told it's one reward or the other, and wished staff had said so up front.
- Waits vary. Three posts didn't have to wait, including visits at 1 pm on a weekend and at 2 pm. Two did: one couple was turned away at dinnertime once and came back around 5:30 the next time, and a regular recalled long lunchtime queues in the first months that moved quickly. No one gave a wait time in minutes.

Parking
6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Parking is in the building's basement garage. Six posts said you can park there, and two of them drove and parked. One said staff will validate your ticket if you ask after the meal, and that time beyond the validated period costs 500 won per 10 minutes. One of the drivers described coming up to the ground floor from the garage to reach the restaurant.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 3 (of 27 posts read) |
|---|
No one said whether there's a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means we don't know, not that it's impossible. Three posts say the restaurant is on the ground floor.
The only word on toilets is a copied listing line saying they're the building's shared restrooms; no one described using them. We don't know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Prices have gone up. The cubed-steak set was 15,900 won in February 2026 and 16,900 won in October 2026. The beef-intestine bowl was 13,900 won in May 2025 and 14,900 won in September 2026. The plain cubed-steak bowl stayed at 12,900 won from May 2025 to March 2026. No one called the place expensive.
- The ramen line-up has grown. A November 2025 post mentions tonkotsu and karai; from January–February 2026 posts describe shio, shoyu and spicy miso as 'three new ramens'. Eight posts cluster between 17 and 24 February 2026 and repeat the same lines (authentic Japanese taste, free rice with ramen, don't mix the rice bowl). Only two of them disclose sponsorship.
- Opening hours: 16 posts give 11:00–21:30 and ten give last orders at 21:00, though nearly all of them copied the listing. One says there's no afternoon break and one says the place is open every day.
- Posts from 2026 give the phone number 0507-1321-4144; two May 2025 posts by one writer give 031-928-4143. Whether you can book is unknown — the only mention is a copied 'reservations available' line.
- No one went by bus or subway. The only transit detail is a copied line about a bus stop two minutes' walk away; the writer who copied it actually walked 15 minutes past the lake park with her children. We don't know.
