Gopchangae Makchangga

곱창애막창가 The sign reads 곱창愛막창家 — 'love (愛) of gopchang, house (家) of makchang', i.e. a house for pork small and large intestines.

Compiled from 30 blog posts read in fullSources →

A pork intestine house in the R6 shopping block of Okjeong-dong, Yangju. Salted and marinated makchang (15,000 won a portion each) come pre-grilled over briquettes and ready to eat, yachae gopchang (12,000 won a portion) is stir-fried on an iron plate, and a hotpot runs 19,900 won for two; a bowl of seaweed soup arrives for each person as soon as you order. Packet noodles and burners line one wall — 2,500 won to cook them yourself, 3,500 won to have them cooked. We read 30 posts from 8 February to 19 October 2026, and all 30 describe an actual visit; diners came as couples in 7, with family in 5 and with friends in 4.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Sixteen posts note that every dish can be ordered by the single portion, so many tables mix one salted, one marinated and one stir-fried. Two posts say the hotpot alone is sold for two.
  2. Thirteen posts say the meat comes out already grilled over briquettes in the kitchen; the table burner just keeps it warm on low. Two posts note the pa makchang is the one dish you grill yourself.
  3. Eighteen posts say there was no off smell, and none say otherwise. The 'domestic intestines from Majang-dong' line is the shop's own claim repeated by bloggers, and we don't rely on it.
  4. Seventeen posts call the portions big; three were too full for the closing fried rice.
3 more
  1. Five posts say the food was slow — one waited a long time with no queue at all, another got a sample of marinated makchang as an apology; one timed it at about 20 minutes. Many posts relay a wall notice that phoning your order 20 minutes ahead speeds things up.
  2. Twenty-one posts describe a roomy hall with wide gaps between tables. Tables are round stainless steel — one post counted about eight seating five each. One post, written while heavily pregnant, said the backless stools hurt.
  3. Eight posts mention high chairs (one counted two), and four went with children.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

6 posts say you can park; 1 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Posts saying you can park6 of 30 posts
Posts saying you cannot1 of 30 posts

Parking is mixed: six posts parked in front, one says there is none, three found the front spots blocked or tight and used the street. Counts of front spaces differ — one or two in one post, three or four in another. One post says the owner stood outside to hold the last spot for them.

Getting inside

Toilet inside3 of 30 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 30 posts read)

Only one post says from the visit that the shop is on the ground floor; the rest just copy the address.

We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — none of the 30 posts says.

Three posts say the toilet is inside the shop, unusual for this block; one adds that it is unisex.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • No post describes getting there by bus or rail, so we don't know; one walked from nearby and six drove.
  • We know little about queues: one post had no wait, others found the room full or half full in the early evening, but none reports standing in line or for how long. One post booked ahead.
  • One post says the shop moved here from Minrak in Uijeongbu, but that is hearsay, and another says a shop of the same name still exists in Uijeongbu — we can't tell a move from a branch.
  • Opening hours changed. The 16 posts up to 11 August 2026 list 17:00–01:30 with last orders at 00:30; the six from 26 August to 15 September list 16:00–01:00 daily. The new hours are all copied from listing blocks, and nobody gives the new last-order time or a closing day. One earlier post had 01:45 instead.
  • Prices did not change in any post from March to September 2026. Two servings of yachae gopchang plus one salted makchang — an order three posts made — comes to 39,000 won. No post calls it expensive; three call it reasonable.
  • Fifteen posts give 0507-1305-9283 and two give 031-862-9282. Many say you can phone ahead to order or book; only one post actually booked.
  • One post discloses sponsorship, one hints the meal was not paid for, five say they paid, and the other 23 say nothing. Posts written in the same order cluster together, three of them on 15 September 2026 alone.
