Dolgyeok Dakgangjeong Yangju Okjeong

돌격닭강정 양주옥정점 Dolgyeok means a military charge, and one post calls the red storefront army-themed; dakgangjeong is boneless fried chicken tossed in a sticky glaze.

Compiled from 7 blog posts read in fullSources →

A boneless dakgangjeong chain shop at Okjeong-ro 148, unit 106, in the Okjeong central shopping strip in Yangju. You pick a size — a cup, or a medium, large or extra-large box — and a flavour, from basics like red glaze and garlic-soy to specials like Cream Bomb. The large box was 12,000 won in both February and September 2025 posts. All seven posts we counted as being about this shop bought food at the counter and left: five took it home, one ate in Okjeong Lake Park, one ate while walking. None described eating inside. We read 30 posts from February 2025 to October 2026; 23 were about a neighbouring bakery or waxing salon, unrelated travel diaries, or new-listing roundups, and were not counted.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a takeout shop: all seven posts took their food away. Two noted how long the frying took — about 10 minutes, and 10 to 15 minutes. One suggested phoning the order ahead to pick it up faster.
  2. There is somewhere to sit, though. Three posts saw tables and chairs inside, and one mentioned a row of chairs for people waiting. One said the space is not large but was tidy.
  3. Three posts called it spicy. One ordering Cream Bomb level 1 was told it is about as hot as Shin Ramyun, and one ordering level 3 used the same comparison. Two had worried the cream would be greasy and said it was not. The post that had red glaze at level 2 said the chili heat crept up.
  4. It sits right in front of a bus stop. Two posts said so — one stops on the way home from work, another on the walk home.

  1. Writing a receipt review earns a free side. Two posts mentioned it; a September 2025 post listed the choice (extra rice cake, cheese sticks, sweet-potato sticks or cheese balls, pick two) and got cheese sticks.

Getting inside

No post said which floor the shop is on from experience; there is only copied info about a basement car park in the building. That means nobody wrote it down, not that it is not at street level.

Nobody mentioned whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in.

We do not know whether the toilet is inside the shop. One post photographed a notice with the wifi and toilet passwords, but none said where the toilet is.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • It is a chain; two posts said so. Most posts repeat nearly identical lines — 100% thigh meat, fresh oil every day, the first dakgangjeong with 18 flavours, bulk orders from kindergartens and schools. We treat these as the shop's own copy and did not count them. No post disclosed sponsorship.
  • Opening hours have changed. Two posts from August and September 2025 gave noon to 1:30 a.m. daily; two from September and October 2026 gave 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. One February 2025 post gave noon to 1 a.m., last order 12:30. All were copied info blocks, and no post mentions a closing day.
  • Prices were recorded a little differently over time. The September 2025 menu (takeout-discount prices) listed the cup at 3,500 won with 1,000 won extra for a special flavour; a September 2026 post paid 4,000 won plus 500 won. We cannot tell from the posts whether prices rose or the discount simply was not applied. A typical order was a 12,000-won large box plus a 3,000–3,500-won side.
  • No post mentioned queuing; the only wait described was the frying time. That does not mean there is never a line — nobody reported one.
  • We know almost nothing about who people came with. One post drove there and one mentioned sharing between two, but none said who they were with — every visit was a pickup.
  • Three posts list the phone number 0507-1379-6512. Posts say you can phone an order ahead for pickup, but none mention reservations.
