Daeyeong Hwangso Gopchang

대영황소곱창 Hwangso means a bull and gopchang is beef small intestine grilled at the table; Daeyeong reads as a proper name, and no post explains it.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

A beef-intestine grill on the ground floor of a side street in the R6 block of Okjeong, Yangju. Nearly everyone orders the mixed platter of small and large intestine, abomasum and heart: 62,000 won in posts up to September 2025, 69,000 won from April 2026. The platter comes part-grilled, the owner cuts it at your table, and raw liver and tripe are offered free after he asks whether you eat them. Meals end with fried rice (5,000 won) or brisket ramyeon. We read 27 posts from October 2024 to October 2026 and counted 22 as real visits; five posts from May–June 2026 share one template and were not counted.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The owner cuts the meat at your table: 16 posts say so, and 12 say it arrives part-grilled. Several describe him setting out the heart first and telling them to give the large intestine and abomasum about five more minutes. One April 2026 post adds that he does this when he is not busy.
  2. Eleven posts say raw liver and tripe come free, offered after the owner asks if you eat them. One November 2025 visitor got only tripe because there was no liver that day, and a March 2026 visitor asked for more and was told it had run out.
  3. The thick-cut, barely cooked heart comes up again and again: seven posts call it thick, several compare it to steak. Nine posts say there is no gamey smell; none say there is.
  4. The room is small: four posts say so, counting five to seven round tables. Two posts describe round stools with storage inside for coats. One October 2024 post says the tables are well spaced despite the size.

  1. Eleven posts say you can park out front, but space is tight: five describe the size, from two or three cars to very cramped, and most say to use the street when it is full.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 22 posts read)

No one mentions a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits. That means we don't know, not that there is a problem. Two posts confirm it is on the ground floor.

No post says where the toilet is. A note that it is split by gender appears only in a copied info block, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-05-302 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Many posts say the owner works alone on weekends, so guests fetch their own drinks and glasses. Two posts mention slow service: one about weekends in general, one about a slow stew.
  • No one reports actually waiting. Three posts say they only just got a table, one had the place to themselves. Two describe it full around 7 pm, on a Saturday and a weekday.
  • Prices rose between September 2025 and April 2026, from 62,000 to 69,000 won for the platter. Opinions on value split: one says it is not cheap, one says it is cheaper than elsewhere, two are undecided. No one recorded a 2026 price for the larger platter.
  • Opening hours changed. Posts up to March 2025 give 15:30 to 00:30, closed on the second and fourth Mondays. From August 2025 it opens at 15:30 and closes at 22:00 or 23:00 (eight posts say 23:00, four say 22:00; two explain 22:00 in summer, 23:00 in winter). Nine posts say every Monday off, two say second and fourth Mondays. Most of this is copied from info blocks, and it may close early when ingredients run out.
  • No one describes getting there by bus or subway; one says it is walkable from the Okjeong central shopping area.
  • Ten posts list the phone number 031-865-4767. Whether you can reserve is unconfirmed: it appears only in a copied info block and in one older post giving a separate mobile number for reservations.
  • Five posts from May–June 2026 share titles and hashtags word for word and list menu items with no prices or details, so we treated them as promotional copy and left them out. Three October 2026 posts share a hashtag set; one discloses sponsorship. One November 2025 post heard the owner planned to close soon, but visits continue through October 2026.
