Cheongjin Sikdang

청진식당 Sikdang simply means 'restaurant'; the posts give no meaning for Cheongjin, which reads as a proper name.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A pork-spine stew house on the ground floor of Seonyang Tower in Okjeong-dong's central shopping strip, Yangju. Four pot dishes — gamjatang, spicy braise, soy-braised Andong-style bones and herbal white broth — all come under a mound of minari and cost 38,000 won in 2026 posts; a chili-grilled bone dish added in April 2026 is 28,000 won small, 38,000 won large. There are 9,800-won single portions at lunch. Seating is split over two floors plus a few tables outside. The space used to be Minari Sanjang; posts say the same owner renamed it. We read 30 posts from 16 October 2025 to 18 October 2026: one was about a different shop in the building and one was a delivery order, leaving 28 visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Side dishes are self-serve: 18 posts said so, and several noted a separate station on each floor stocked with disposable aprons, gloves and bone bowls. The house advertises free minari refills, and some diners did ask for more.
  2. Heat depends on the dish. All seven posts that called it hot had the grilled bones or the spicy braise — one placed the braise between Shin Ramyun and Buldak. Two of the three that found it mild had the soy-braised Andong dish. Several posts said you can ask for less heat.
  3. Five posts came with children and five mentioned high chairs; families chose the mild soy-braised bones or the herbal broth.
  4. Twelve posts called the portions large — one Andong braise 'enough for three adults', a small grilled-bone order filling for two. One post felt the small was more like one and a half servings.

  1. Nine posts mentioned outdoor tables out front; one said there were only two, another 'a few'.

Posts saying you can park10 of 28 posts

Drivers use the building's car park: ten posts said so, two called it large. The '2 hours free' line comes from copied info blocks, and one post called it paid parking instead. One warned that street parking is enforced often.

Getting inside

Second floor26 of 28 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 7 (of 28 posts read)

The ground floor is small; the upstairs adds seats. 26 of 28 visits described the two floors. One counted four tables downstairs, another five or six upstairs, and a party of twelve ate upstairs. Seven posts called it roomy and three called it small.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — no one said. The upstairs is reached by stairs; one post called them a little steep and narrow, another noted a 'mind the stairs' sign.

We don't know whether the restroom is inside; no one described it, and 'separate restrooms' appears only in one copied amenities list.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • We can't tell you how to get there by train or bus; one post said it's easy by public transport but none named a stop.
  • No one wrote that they had to wait — which means no one reported it, not that there is never a line. One found it quiet early on a weekday evening, two booked ahead, and others saw the ground floor and outdoor tables fill up early.
  • Opening hours come only from copied info blocks: 19 posts list noon to midnight, 15 of them with last orders at 23:00. A July 2026 post says 11:30 and a September one 11:00, so opening may have moved earlier, but two posts aren't enough to tell. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Prices changed: gamjatang was 35,000 won in three posts from late 2025 and 38,000 won from April 2026; the grilled-bone dish only appeared in April 2026. No post gives a per-person cost — most shared one pot between two or three.
  • Most posts list the phone number as 0507-1456-7802; one gives 031-861-7791. Two posts said they booked ahead.
  • 21 of the 28 visits arrived in look-alike batches — four posts on 16–17 October 2025, eight in late February and March 2026, and nine between 24 April and 1 May 2026, the last all featuring the new grilled-bone dish and the receipt-review freebie. None discloses sponsorship; read their praise with that in mind.
