Chammat Chamchi Jeongyuk Sikdang

참맛참치정육식당 Chammat means 'true taste', and chamchi jeongyuk sikdang reads 'tuna butcher's diner' — the name styles the place as a meat counter for tuna.

Compiled from 10 blog posts read in fullSources →

Chammat is an evening tuna-sashimi house in a side street of Okjeong's R6 commercial block in Yangju. Of the ten posts from people who ate there, five ordered the Special Honmaguro set of belly, kama-toro, navel toro and cheek; the only price given is 115,000 won for 360 g in October 2025. The Honmaguro set was 89,000 won in December 2025 and the Maguro set 53,000 won in April 2025. Side dishes, porridge and miso soup come from a self-serve bar, yuzu salt and white kimchi come with the fish, and four posts finished with fish-cake udon. It used to be called Uri Dongne Chamchi Jeongyukjeom; one post says the owner is the same. We read 12 posts from January 2025 to September 2026; one was about a different tuna place and was set aside, and one could not be shown to have eaten on site.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Six posts said the owners were kind. One got a freshly heated miso soup because the owner thought the first had cooled; one was asked about drinking habits before a sake was chosen; one was told to let a fresh sake sit ten minutes to open up. One of the six added that while kind, the service itself fell short.
  2. Six posts said side dishes, porridge and miso soup are taken from the self-serve bar as needed; two listed pickled radish, rakkyo, ginger and pickled chili. One post found it awkward that everything is self-serve from the start rather than after a first round, and another missed having the tuna itself refilled.
  3. Two posts said food was slow: a January 2025 visit right at opening waited quite a while, and an October 2025 visit waited about 30 minutes because delivery orders were backed up.

Parking

5 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park5 of 10 posts

Five posts were able to park. One said the building's own lot is a bit tight but the street in front takes the overflow; another reckoned five or six cars fit in front of the shop. One post warned that the villa-block street becomes a parking nightmare on rainy days.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 10 posts read)

No post described the floor from experience; the address says ground floor, and one post noted entrances on two sides. That is not proof there are no steps, only that no one mentioned them.

No one wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller.

The restroom is outside the shop; a January 2025 post said it was cold to get to. An April 2025 info line says the same but was copied, so we did not count it. Separate men's and women's rooms appear only in a copied amenities list.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Portions split two to two: two posts found them filling (one about the udon), two found the tuna sets far too small to fill up on.
  • Views on price do not settle: two posts wavered between pricey and good value, and one called the prices fair. Each recorded price belongs to a different set, so we cannot tell whether prices moved.
  • Opening hours come only from copied info lines. Posts from October and December 2025 give 16:00-23:30; three posts from June 2026 on agree on 16:00-23:00, closed Tuesdays. One April 2025 post says 16:00-midnight daily and one October 2025 post says 11:00-23:30. Two posts relay that the shop closes for the day when the tuna sells out.
  • Five posts give the phone number as 0507-1448-1612; one December 2025 post gives 0507-1463-7752. Reservations appear only in copied lists, including a note about public holidays; no one wrote about booking.
  • Bus directions (routes 80, 700, 77-1) appear only as copied text in one post; no one wrote about arriving by bus or subway.
  • No post mentioned queuing to get in; that means no one wrote about it, not that there is never a wait.
