Bakmanbae Arirang Bossam Yangju Okjeong-jeom

박만배아리랑보쌈 양주옥정점 Bak Manbae is the founder's name — posts say the brand grew out of Manbae Arirang Bossam in Seoul's Gangseo-gu; bossam is boiled pork eaten wrapped in salted cabbage with kimchi.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A bossam house on the ground floor of Hangil Plaza 2 in Okjeong's central shopping strip, Yangju, built around the gabeuri cut of pork. Every bossam (small, medium or large) comes with a free pot of crab-and-clam kalguksu or a plate of jaengban noodles; the half-and-half bossam is 44,000 won for a small. Of the 25 visit posts, 22 ordered the half-and-half, 15 took the kalguksu and 11 the noodles. We read 30 posts from 6 May to 18 October 2026; two were about other branches (Uijeongbu Station, Dasan) and were dropped, and three identical sponsored write-ups were not counted as visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Waits vary. Three posts waited: 15–20 minutes on a full weekend evening, a short spell on the waiting chairs after writing a name down late one evening, and a brief wait around 7 p.m. on a Friday. Two walked straight in — about 8 p.m. on a weekend, and a regular who comes on weekday evenings. One post mentioned waiting chairs.
  2. This reads as a family place. Ten posts came with family, six of them with children (a 22-month-old, a middle-schooler and others); five came as a couple and two with a friend. Six posts saw high chairs in the dining room.
  3. Six posts found the portions large — two people nearly left food from a small, and a family of three said a small was enough. One post noted a friend thought the meat was a bit scant, so that one is undecided.
  4. Eleven posts said the pork had no off smell; none said it did.

  1. You order on a tablet at the table (six posts); one noted you can ask for the free noodles now or later. Another found the tablet unplugged and ordered from the owner instead.

Posts saying you can park9 of 25 posts

Parking is in the building's basement garage. Nine posts parked there, describing it as roomy even at dinnertime (it goes down two levels). Several remind you to register your car after the meal. The '2 hours free' and '31 spaces' figures appear only in copied info blocks, so we don't rely on them.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 6 (of 25 posts read)

It is a ground-floor shop — six posts said so in their own words, not just in the address.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — not because there isn't, but because nobody wrote about it.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside the shop. 'Separate men's and women's' appears only in three copied info blocks; one post said only that it was clean.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-05-063 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts disagree on how thick the slices are: three called them thin, two called them thick-cut.
  • No post arrived by subway or bus, so we can't speak to public transport. One mentioned a future station under construction nearby; one family walked from home.
  • Sixteen posts gave opening hours, all copied from listings: 15 say 11:00–22:00 (11 add last order at 21:00) and 14 say closed Mondays. One post from 27 May 2026 alone says Monday–Saturday, closed Sundays.
  • Menu prices copied in posts from May to August 2026 all match, with no increase recorded. Two people sharing a small half-and-half with the free noodles pay 44,000 won; stew (2,000 won), rice and drinks are extra. Posts after August give no prices.
  • Eight posts list the same phone number, 0507-1331-0466. On reservations we have only a copied 'reservations available' line and one post that saw a group booking set up; nobody wrote about booking by phone themselves.
  • Much of the coverage is sponsored: of the 25 visit posts, two disclosed sponsorship, three were invited or given meal vouchers, two said they paid, and 18 said nothing. Lines like '35-year tradition', 'visited by YouTuber Hibab' and 'Korea's only premium bossam' recur word for word and come from the shop's own pitch, so we don't treat them as evidence.
  • The menu shifts with the seasons: a chilled naengchae bossam missing from the May 2026 menu shows up in two posts from late June and July, and the octopus bossam was billed as spring–summer only, so we can't say whether it's still offered.
