Baegun Chuksan Sohanmari Jeongyuksikdang Indeogwonjeom

백운축산 소한마리 정육식당 인덕원점 Baegun Livestock's One-Whole-Cow butcher-restaurant, Indeogwon branch — a meat wholesaler's own dining room, where the beef comes out as one tray of assorted cuts

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

Baegun Chuksan Sohanmari is a butcher's dining room in a quiet residential pocket of Anyang, on the ground floor opposite a church. There are really only three things to order — a tray of assorted cuts at 600g, 900g or 1.2kg — and seventeen of the twenty-six people who ate here took the middle one. Nobody grills it for you: each table has a cast-iron plate, an infrared thermometer, and a notice on the wall telling you to get the plate to 200°C first. A beef-and-soybean stew comes free and is refilled, and a knob of butter arrives with the last cut. A ₩2,000 per-head cover charge sits on top of the meat price. The posts we read run from December 2024 to August 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours

What sets it apart

  1. Nobody calls it expensive — all twenty-six posts that discuss money say the opposite, and eleven of them give the same reason in the same words: the shop buys and distributes its own beef, so there is no middleman. That is the shop's account and we have not checked it. The comparisons are concrete: under ten thousand won per hundred grams, beef at pork prices, brisket that costs thirty thousand a portion elsewhere. One thing is missing from the arithmetic, though. Nine posts note a ₩2,000 per-person cover for the vegetables, so two people eating the 900g tray pay ₩73,000, not ₩69,000 — and the usual additions on top are the raw beef, the steamed egg and the noodles.
  2. Twenty-three posts say the portions are large and none say otherwise. Several do the arithmetic out loud: two people ambushed by the tray, three women who left some behind, one who put off coming until she had a fourth person. Three reckon it right for two big eaters or three ordinary ones, and one says the large tray still gives five or six a fair share. What gets left, revealingly, is the free stew — not one writer records refilling it, and two say the meat beat them to it. The single complaint about quantity anywhere in these posts is the side noodles.
  3. You cook it yourself. Two posts say so outright — no grilling service — and eight more simply describe doing it. The shop hands you instruments instead: seven mention the infrared thermometer at each table, and six copy the notice on the wall telling you to bring the plate to 200°C and wait for the crust. One writer went off and looked up the Maillard reaction afterwards. The plate is cast iron and holds its heat, several say, with the gas dial under the table. And the slice of radish that comes with everything is for wiping the plate, not for eating — five posts feel the need to say so.
  4. A soybean-paste stew comes free and is refilled on request. Sixteen posts describe it. Every table has two burners, one for the plate and one for the pot, and it simmers through the meal. Four point out there is beef in it alongside the radish, courgette and tofu; more than one is faintly indignant about how good something free is. As noted above, nobody actually refilled it.
6 more
  1. Twenty posts describe the help-yourself bar. A first round comes to the table — pickled onion, dressed spring onion, radish kimchi, bean paste, garlic — and everything after that you fetch: lettuce, perilla leaf, green chilli, sliced onion, minced garlic, fresh wasabi, sesame oil, plates. Two mention aprons and bags for your coat. Two warn that the lettuce and perilla do not come unless you go and get them, and one that the wasabi and radish kimchi do not either. Two writers confess to finishing a whole dish of the pickled onion alone.
  2. Sixteen posts talk about booking. It goes through the map app, but only for parties of five or more — four explain that smaller groups should ring two hours ahead instead, and three who did book found the table laid and waiting. Eight mention corporate booking and prepayment by company card, which fits: the posts describe office towers nearby and a room full of work dinners. One says a restaurant-booking app works too.
  3. Nineteen posts call the room large. They agree on the specifics: generous gaps between tables (six), a partly separated area at the back (four), tables from four seats up to eight. One writer took the far corner of the L-shaped room to talk without being overheard, and adds that she could open the window beside her. Twenty-four of the twenty-six posts use the word for a work dinner, and all three who came on a Friday evening found the place full of them. On the look they split: three call it retro, two say it feels newly built, almost like a café.
  4. Ten posts list the children's kit — high chair, divided tray, small spoon — and two explain it by the neighbourhood: this is a residential street and families come. Three writers actually brought a child, and all three report the same thing: the steamed egg was what the child ate, being soft and lightly seasoned. One child had it mashed into the stew with the beef. Nothing in any post says anything about a changing table.
  5. Ten posts give the walk from Indeogwon station and they do not agree — five minutes from exit 7 in one, 524 metres in two, ten minutes in four, seven minutes from exit 8 in another. Somewhere between five and ten minutes is the safe reading. On the landmark they do agree: five say it is directly opposite a church, and one adds it is a hundred metres towards Pyeongchon from the crossroads. Three describe it as set apart from the bar streets, in a quiet residential pocket. One came by bus and one by taxi.
  6. Ten posts mention the receipt-review giveaway, and what people got varies: a choice of soju, beer, a soft drink or the steamed egg (three), the egg (three), a drink (two). Three say booking or following the shop on the map app gets you one too, and one describes a draw for adding the shop's chat channel. A December 2024 post reports two tubes of Pringles with the set — nothing since mentions it. One writer lists the conditions with some feeling: save, follow, five keywords, a hundred characters and three photographs.

Parking

2 posts say you can park; 5 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Posts saying you can park2 of 26 posts
Posts saying you cannot5 of 26 posts

There is no car park of the shop's own — but the posts disagree about what that means. Five say flatly that there is none; two parked anyway, one in front of the shop and one around the building, the latter adding that you should ring the owner if several cars are coming. Seventeen posts give the same public-lot directions — two minutes' walk, ₩600 per half hour at one, ₩400 at the others — and five note they are free after six on weekdays and at weekends. Of the three who actually drove, one found the lots hard with all the offices nearby and another found them easy. That disagrees too. If you are driving, budget for the public lot.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 26 posts

Nobody writes about the floor. The registered address and the shop line pinned to every post both say ground floor, and not one of the twenty-six mentions going up or down any stairs. Nor does anyone say whether there is an upstairs or a basement — the L-shaped room that runs back from the entrance is all on one level. The honest phrasing is not that it is only on the ground floor, but that nobody has written about any other.

Not one post says anything about a step at the door. We know it is at street level, that you push a door and walk in, and that nineteen people found the tables well spaced — but nobody records whether there is a lip at the entrance, whether a wheelchair or a pushchair gets through, or which way the door swings. Two things worth adding: the vegetables have to be fetched from a bar across the room, and the cooking happens at your own table. If you are coming with a chair or a pram, ring first.

Exactly one person has seen the toilet. Three posts of twenty-six mention one; two of those are reproducing the same boilerplate line of facilities from the map listing, with no sign either writer used it. The third notes in her own summary that the toilet is inside the restaurant. That it is inside is therefore all we know — not whether it is split by sex, how many stalls, which way the door opens, or whether a chair would fit.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts waited, one did not, and that is all we have. One says the evening commute brings a queue but the room turns over quickly; another watched people turned away after seven on a Friday. The third arrived at eight on a Thursday and found it half full. The other twenty-three say nothing about waiting at all — which is not the same as saying there was none. All three Friday-evening visits found the room full of work parties, though, and since the shop only takes bookings for five or more, a party of four on a Friday would do well to ring two hours ahead.
  • Two of the twenty-six declare a sponsorship — but the posting pattern is lumpy. Three went up on one day in September 2025, two on another in August, two in June, two in May. The bodies differ — different orders, different prices, each person's own meal — so we did not throw them out as copies. What does repeat, close to word for word, is the shop's own marketing: eleven posts say it buys and distributes its own beef with no middleman, eight repeat the phrase about a special ageing technique, eight the line about corporate booking and prepayment. The two sponsored posts declare it with a single hashtag; one writer states she paid; twenty-three say nothing. Read them with that in mind. Where they contradict each other — on price, on quantity, on parking — we have left the contradiction standing.
  • One post of twenty-six says where the beef comes from, and it says America. That is the December 2024 one, in the body and again in its tags. The other twenty-five do not say at all. The words for Korean beef appear twenty-seven times across the posts, but count them and almost every one refers to the raw beef side dish, which one writer records off the board as top-grade Korean eye of round. Two mention domestic, antibiotic-free pork. We could not establish the origin of the beef you grill — the shop will have it posted, so look when you are there.
  • Five different phone numbers appear across the posts, and one of them belongs to another branch. Twelve posts give the same 0507 number between March 2025 and 2026; three others give three different numbers; and one gives the number of the shop's Pyeonggye branch — that post also puts the closing time an hour later than everyone else, so something was copied across. Numbers beginning 0507 are relays that expire, so we could not tell which one rings today and have not published one. For a booking, take the number from the map listing. It is worth remembering that a branch of the same name exists elsewhere in Anyang.
  • Whether you can bring your own drink is unsettled. Four posts mention corkage and give four answers: free, free, one bottle allowed, and chargeable. All four sit in the header information rather than the body, and not one writer records actually bringing a bottle. Plenty drank what the shop sells — three mix soju with beer, one copies the draught prices off the board. If you mean to bring something, ring and ask.
