통큰솥뚜껑닭볶음탕 양주덕계점 Tongkeun means big-hearted or generous, and sotttukkeong is a cast-iron cauldron lid: the braised spicy chicken (dakbokkeumtang) is cooked on a huge lid set over a drum burner beside each table.

A branch of a braised-chicken chain on Pyeonghwa-ro in Deokgye-dong, Yangju, next to Rich Mart. Each table has a drum burner topped with a huge cauldron lid; the spicy braised chicken cooks on the lid and is ladled into bowls, and fried rice is made on the lid at the end. The basic dish is 15,000 won per person, alongside aged-kimchi chicken (19,000), chicken with intestines (23,000), whole-chicken noodle soup and soy-braised chicken. What sets it apart
- Staff cook the pot at your table and ladle it out. Nine posts, all from August 2025 onward, say staff or the owner did the cooking: one mentions a 12-minute timer, another a 9-minute countdown followed by staff topping up the broth, and another the owner torching cheese onto the fried rice. One post ordered two different dishes and found them cooked together, since each table has only one drum burner.
- Side dishes are refilled from a self-serve bar, which seven posts mention. Listed sides include white kimchi, stir-fried fish cake, bean sprouts and radish kimchi; one December 2025 post found the fish cake a little dried out.

What we do not know
- Opinions on heat are split: ten posts call it spicy, three say it is barely spicy. A couple who avoid spicy food found the base sauce hot, while a December 2025 post found it hardly spicy at all.
- Seven posts say the sauce is not sweet, but all of them are in the July 2025 promotional batch using the same phrasing; two posts in that same batch call it sweetish.
- The 16-post promotional batch from late July 2025 repeats the same lines: 100% domestic chicken, parking front and back, summer cold noodles, lunch ginseng soup. The domestic-chicken claim is the shop's own wording and we do not count it.
- Opening hours have changed. July 2025 posts list 11:00–02:00 daily (last order 01:00); August–November 2025 posts list 11:00–01:00; one December 2025 post lists 11:00–23:50; two October 2026 posts list 11:00–22:00 daily. All are copied from the shop's listing, so check before going.
- Only one post (December 2025) gives receipt totals: 38,000 won for two portions of aged-kimchi chicken and 46,000 won for two of the intestine version. A November 2025 post says the minimum order is two portions, so the basic dish starts at 30,000 won. Nobody recorded prices for noodle add-ins or sides.
- No post describes arriving by public transport. The shop's own directions say 15 minutes' walk from Deokgye Station exit 1 or one minute from the Myeongseong/Sinwoo Apt./Rich Mart bus stop, but that is the shop's listing, not a visitor's account.
- No post mentions waiting. A November 2025 visit in the late afternoon found it quiet, and a July 2025 lunch visit found some tables already taken. We don't know about waits at peak dinner time.
- Most posts give the phone number 0507-1485-4863; two give 031-861-4860, one describing it as the line for reservations and parking questions. No post describes actually booking ahead.
