Sushi Roi

스시로이 Sushi is the Japanese dish; none of the posts explain what 'Roi' stands for.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

Sushi Roi is an aged-fish sushi house on the ground floor of the Nonghyup building by Exit 1 of Deokgye Station in Yangju. Most people order a set — a board of nigiri plus udon, cold soba or ramen: Set A, 10 pieces, 16,000 won; Set B, 12 pieces, 22,000; Set C, 14 pieces, 28,000. Soba or ramen adds 500 won, spicy ramen 1,000. Weekday lunch plates of eight pieces with noodles start at 12,000. We read 30 posts dated 18 June to 17 September 2026; 29 describe a visit. Set B was ordered in 18 and Set A in 12. Two posts disclose sponsorship, one says the writer paid, and 27 say nothing either way.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eleven posts say the fish is thick. Several describe slices draping well past the rice — one said even cut with scissors each half felt like a full piece; another, that it was like eating two slices on one mound of rice.
  2. The sushi counter is open to the room: 13 posts watched the chefs shape or torch nigiri from their seats, and four noted it was made the moment they ordered. One post says noodles and other dishes come from a separate kitchen behind.
  3. Sixteen posts say it is walkable from Deokgye Station — two, three, four or five minutes from Exit 1, or about 260 metres.
  4. Waits are split. Two posts queued — briefly on a Friday evening in June, and on a September weekday when the room filled 10–20 minutes after opening and a line formed. Two others walked straight in (an early July evening, August). A June post saw people leave at lunch for lack of a table. Posts found it full at 12:30 on a weekday, just after 5 p.m. on a Friday, and at 1:30 on a weekend.
4 more
  1. Seven posts call the room small or snug and two call it roomy; several add that tables are well spaced. One counted about six four-tops; another, one two-top, three four-tops and an eight-seat table.
  2. Six posts came with children. They report wasabi left out of a child's sushi, cheese sauce served on the side, flounder sliced thinner, and child-size cutlery. One post saw a high chair.
  3. Nine posts came with family, eight as a couple and four with friends or colleagues.
  4. Five posts say the spicy ramen is genuinely hot; one warned the spice-shy off it, and another said even a seasoned eater left some.

Parking

Posts saying you can park15 of 29 posts

The building has an underground car park. Fifteen posts say you can park there, and nine of them drove; five found plenty of space over two basement levels, and one notes the ramp is right beside the shop. The 'two hours free per table' line is mostly copied from the listing; one diner had an hour registered by staff on the way out.

Getting inside

Separate restrooms1 of 29 posts

It is at street level: six posts place it on the ground floor of the Nonghyup building, and one describes riding the customer lift up from the car park and turning right to find it.

We do not know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Posts say it is on the ground floor, but none mention the entrance itself.

Only one post covers the toilets: they are outside the shop in the building, with separate door codes for men and women. Nobody mentions size or an accessible toilet.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Set prices are the same in every post from June to September, but the single-kind flounder plate is 23,000 won in a July menu photo and 26,000 in one September post; we cannot tell whether it went up or the plate differs. Four posts say the lunch plates are weekday-only.
  • Twenty-four posts give the same hours — 11:30 to 22:30, break 14:30–17:00, last order 21:30 — but nearly all copy the listing; one post saw the same times on the door. Only one post, copying the listing, says it never closes.
  • Most posts give the phone number as 0507-1477-1477; the sign and a few posts show 031-858-1477. Several copy 'reservations accepted' from the listing; the only first-hand sign is one post that saw the next table arrive on a booking.
  • Many posts repeat the same house blurb — inosinic acid, aging at least 12 hours, a rice seasoning between Osaka and Tokyo styles — and the same hashtag string. We treat that as copied promotion, not evidence; only two posts disclose sponsorship.
