Namdareun Daegu Makchang

남다른대구막창 Namdareun means 'out of the ordinary', and Daegu makchang is intestine grilled the Daegu way and dipped in a doenjang-based sauce.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Daegu-style intestine-grilling chain branch on a corner near Deokgye Station in Yangju. Each table gets a charcoal brazier; the intestine arrives pre-seared from the kitchen and diners finish it themselves, dipping it in Daegu doenjang sauce. Flat, round and spicy intestine cost 9,900 won a portion, and sets pairing two portions of intestine with two of something else run 40,500–52,500 won. One family of five put their bill at about 89,000 won. With the first order you pick either ramen-tteokbokki or pork skin for free. We read 30 posts, dated 22 April to 20 October 2026. 26 of them describe a visit, and 22 of those are from April to June. We set aside two posts about other branches and one about a different restaurant.

Rows without a count: 8 of 17 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Evenings mean a wait. Nine posts queued or saw people waiting. One weekday visitor was third in line and waited about ten minutes. Another saw a queue on a Tuesday evening but said tables turned over quickly. A third put their name on a waiting-list kiosk at 7 pm. The two posts that arrived at the 4 pm opening, and one that came at 4:30, did not wait.
  2. The first order must be at least three portions. Nine posts said so. One added that the three can be mixed across dishes, and another that later orders can be a single portion. Several couples simply ordered three.
  3. Twenty-three posts received the free dish. Thirteen chose the ramen-tteokbokki and ten the pork skin, and they say staff ask which one you want once you have ordered.
  4. Side dishes are refilled from a self-serve bar, according to ten posts. Two noted that the mustard-leaf kimchi isn't on the bar, and you have to ask for it.

  1. The garlic spicy intestine is hot. All five posts that ordered it said so, from 'moderately hot' to 'really hot for someone who can't take spice'.

Where it is

Map showing where Namdareun Daegu Makchang is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor or any stairs from experience; only the address says ground floor. That isn't evidence either way — nobody wrote about it.

Nobody mentioned an entrance step or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in. Two posts saw high chairs.

No visitor described the toilet. 'Separate men's and women's toilets' appears only in one post that copied the Naver listing.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on size differ. Six posts called the room small or not spacious, two called it roomy, and one said it was neither. Two posts counted seven or eight tables.
  • The '790 m / 10 minutes' walk from Deokgye Station exit 1 is copied listing information; no post says the writer came by train or bus.
  • Opening hours come from copied listing blocks. Every post gives 4 pm to 11 pm, and eight say Sunday closes at 10 pm. Last orders are mostly 10:20 pm, though one post says 10:10 and another 10:00. Only one post mentions closing every other Monday, and one October post says the place shuts at 9:40 pm.
  • The phone number 010-5562-3936 is copied in eight posts. Reservations appear in copied listings too, and one visitor actually saw reserved tables.
  • All prices come from April–June 2026 posts: 9,900 won a portion, with sets at 40,500 and 52,500 won. No later post gives a price. Five posts called it inexpensive.
  • Two posts share sentences word for word, such as the line about 48 hours of fruit-ageing removing any odour, so they look like supplied copy. The wall slogans about honest weights and the health benefits of intestine are the restaurant's own claims, and we did not count them. No post disclosed sponsorship.
