Gimssine Kape & Hopeu

김씨네카페&호프 Gimssine means 'the Kim family's place'; the name says it is both a café and a hof, a Korean beer pub.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

A neighbourhood café-and-beer-pub on the ground floor of a building in Deokgye-dong, Yangju: coffee by day, beer and bar food in the evening. What people ordered was old-style fried chicken (15,000 won a whole bird) and a Western-style pork cutlet (15,000 won). We read 8 posts dated June 20 to September 23, 2026; all 8 visited the shop, though 2 picked up takeaway and ate at home. One post discloses sponsorship; the other seven say nothing about who paid.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Puffed corn comes to the table as a free bar snack: all 6 posts that ate in say so, and 2 got a refill after the children finished the bowl. It is also sold by the bag at the door; one September post lists 3,000 won a bag, 5,000 won for two. The claim that the owner buys it in Daegu is hearsay and we do not rely on it.
  2. It reads as a place people bring children: 5 posts went with kids, and 3 said things were not spicy. Two noted the chicken batter has no peppery seasoning so the children could eat it, and one said even the boneless spicy chicken feet were not hot at all.
  3. Four posts say the portions are large. One compares the pork cutlet to an extra-large cutlet; a couple who ordered chicken and a cutlet took about half home.

Parking

2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park2 of 8 posts

Two posts that actually parked say it works: one in front of the shop or in the side street, one in the building's large lot. A third only said there seemed to be plenty of spaces out front. The copied 'parking available' labels are not counted.

Getting inside

Step-free access1 of 8 posts

No post describes which floor it is on from experience; only the address says ground floor.

One September post says they wheeled a stroller in after asking the owner. Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair access; that means we do not know, not that there is none.

No post describes the restroom from experience; a copied 'separate men's and women's restrooms' label is not counted. We do not know about the toilets.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • The chicken price changed. A July 22, 2026 post says a whole chicken used to be 18,000 won and was cut to 15,000 won when the menu was redone; a June 20 post said a new menu was being made at the time. All 3 July posts give 15,000 won. Nobody wrote down the price of a half chicken.
  • Accounts of the room's size split one to one: the September post calls it very clean and roomy, the August post says it is small and cosy. Two posts mention plenty of tables or varied seating, and one mentions tables outside.
  • Several posts say it is near Deokgye Station, but none describes actually walking from the station or a bus stop. We do not know how easy it is by public transport.
  • No post mentions waiting. One September post went just after lunch and had the place to themselves; we do not know what evenings are like.
  • Only 1 post went with a friend, against 3 with family and children; none went as a larger group.
  • Six posts give the same hours, 10:00 to 22:00 every day, but mostly copied from the listing. None mentions a break, last order, or closing day.
  • Five posts copy the phone number 031-858-0295. Nobody wrote about booking, so we do not know whether reservations are taken.
  • Three posts (July 22, July 29, August 9) end with the identical five hashtags in the same order, and a fourth starts with the same five. Their bodies differ and each records a meal, so we counted them, but only the June 20 post discloses sponsorship.
