Dondon Duruchigi Hoecheon Jigyeongjeom

돈돈두루치기 회천직영점 Duruchigi is a Korean dish of pork and kimchi simmered down in a little broth; the posts do not explain the name 'Dondon', and jigyeongjeom means a company-run branch.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

A duruchigi and army-stew restaurant on the second floor of V Plaza near Deokgye Station in Yangju. Duruchigi is 12,000 won per person, army stew 10,000 won, the stir-fried version 24,000 won for two; it is one dish per person, and rice, side dishes and radish water kimchi are refilled from a self-serve bar. Several pairs paid 32,000 won for two portions of duruchigi plus the big rolled omelette. We read 22 posts from 3 January 2025 to 9 April 2026; leaving out two about other businesses and two that never ate here, 18 are visits, 15 of them from January to April 2025, right after it opened.

Rows without a count: 2 of 16 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The duruchigi is prepared at your table: all nine posts that ordered it say staff or the owner cut the kimchi and scallion in the pot for them, after which you boil it for three to five minutes and let it reduce on low heat, as a sign on the wall explains.
  2. All 18 visit posts say rice, side dishes and dongchimi can be refilled from the self-serve bar; one notes there are two bars, by the counter and mid-hall. Three of the four army-stew posts mention a kettle of broth left at the table so you never have to ask. Four side dishes come first, and posts say the selection shifts from day to day.
  3. Thirteen posts say the portions are large; two say two servings of duruchigi looked like three, and several skipped add-on noodles because the omelette had already filled them up.
  4. All 18 visit posts call the room large; one explains it used to be a Korean buffet and is lined with four-seat tables, and another says the hall fills quickly at lunch with crews from nearby construction sites.
2 more
  1. Five posts saw high chairs for small children.
  2. Seven posts mention the one-dish-per-person rule; one notes a party of three must order three portions, and takeaway starts at two portions.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 13 (of 18 posts read)
Lift to the floor4 of 18 posts

It is on the second floor: 13 visit posts say so, four took the lift (turn right when you step out), and one found the stairs quicker.

We don't know about steps at the door or wheelchair and stroller access; four posts mention a lift, but no one wrote about a threshold.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside the restaurant; 'in the building, separate men's and women's' appears only in copied listing blocks, not in anyone's own account.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 20 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one wrote about walking from the station; '641 m from Deokgye Station exit 1' and '10 to 13 minutes on foot' are copied directions, and no one came by bus, so we can't speak to getting there by public transport.
  • No one wrote that they had to wait; posts say the hall fills at lunch and that peak hours are busy, but nobody describes queuing.
  • Company skews one way: four posts came with a spouse or partner, one with a daughter, one with a friend. Talk of large groups describes other diners; none of our writers came as a group.
  • Opening hours changed: posts from January to April 2025 give 10:00 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday, while the three posts from November 2025 on say 11:00 on weekdays and 10:30 on Saturday. A 15:00 to 17:00 break appears only from February 2025. Most say Sundays are closed, yet two say 'every day' and one visited on a Sunday afternoon. All of these are copied listings, so check before going.
  • Prices held at 12,000 won for duruchigi and 10,000 won for army stew from January 2025 to April 2026, though only two posts since December 2025 actually record paying; five posts call it good value.
  • Ten posts give the phone number 0507-1449-8604; one gives 031-865-8588. Reservations appear only in copied option lists — no one booked ahead.
  • Several posts from January to April 2025 end with the same five hashtags in the same order, and one says it was a sponsored tasting; the rest say nothing about payment. Each describes its own order and side dishes, so we counted them, but they cluster in the launch period.
