Dansul
단술 Dansul is an old Korean word for a sweet drink (literally 'sweet liquor'), a name one blogger played on as 'sweet, sweet'.

Dansul's Deokgye branch is a small food-and-drinks bar at the end of an apartment-complex arcade in Hoecheon, about an eight-minute walk from Deokgye Station in Yangju. It opens at 5 p.m.; people come for beef tartare dishes (with perilla-oil buckwheat noodles, or with cured salmon), a boneless chicken braise, hot pots and oden, mostly with soju. All five posts that mention the 5,000-won mini kimchi pancake ordered it. We read 15 posts from December 2024 to October 2026; 11 describe a visit. The other four were about neighbouring shops in the same arcade or had nothing to do with this place. An oden menu was added in February 2025, and the tartare dishes went up in price in 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Eight posts describe the free bar snack: puffed corn sticks shaped like Banana Kick, drizzled with honey or syrup. One post called them puffs disguised as Banana Kick. Opinions split. One post liked them enough to ask for a refill; two found them too sweet and left them.
- There are only six or seven tables. Six posts describe the seating: two-tops, four-tops and a partitioned group area at the back that one post thought would hold six to eight. Two posts said the room is not large. The two-tops split opinion: one post found theirs too small for a hot pot plus drinks, another found them roomy.
- Being the last unit in the arcade, one wall is all glass. Two posts mention the window seats; one drank there watching the snow. One post also found outdoor seats by the door but moved inside because of insects.
- The owner cooks alone. One post said they were warned food would be slow on a busy night, and waited about ten more minutes for the hot pot after finishing the kimchi pancake.
1 more
- One post walked from Deokgye Station and put it at about eight minutes. It sits in an apartment arcade off the main station strip, and two posts said they found it by chance while walking. No one mentioned buses.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 11 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 1 (of 11 posts read) |
The ground-floor location appears only in the address; no post described it from experience. One post noted the bar is on a single level.
No one mentioned a step at the entrance or coming in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that it's step-free.
One post that used the toilet said it is outside the bar, and clean and fairly roomy. Another wrote that it was a pity the toilet was 'inside', but its own copied listing says 'toilet outside', so we cannot tell what it meant. That post did note a separate handwashing sink inside the bar. No one said whether the toilets are separated by gender.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Two posts said prices were easy on the wallet; both came from the same December 2024 outing. Prices have gone up since. The tartare noodles went from 17,000 won (December 2024) to 20,000 won (April 2026), and salmon-and-tartare from 29,000 won (September 2025) to 32,000 won (April 2026). The mini kimchi pancake stayed at 5,000 won throughout. No post totalled a bill.
- No one said whether there was a queue. The only waiting we know of is one post's slow food. That you can book by phone appears only in copied listings.
- Three posts came with friends, two with a partner and one with another couple. None came with children.
- Seven posts list opening hours, all copied from listings, and they change over time. In December 2024 two posts gave 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday to Thursday, 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, open every day. An April 2026 post said closing days change monthly, and an August 14, 2026 post had Monday, Friday and Saturday until 3 a.m. with Thursdays off. A post later that month gave 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and 3 a.m. on Monday, Friday and Saturday. Check that month's days off before going.
- Five posts copied the phone number 070-8657-4765; none described booking by phone.
- Of the 11 visit posts, one (February 2025) was written by the neighbouring pizzeria in the same arcade, which tasted the menu during testing and was given a free dish. The two December 2024 posts are the same outing written up by two companions. There is a separate first branch in Goeup-dong; what was said about it (an upstairs bar counter, a 22,000-won beef hot pot) is not counted here.
