꼬주망태 신중동점 A seafood pocha in the Sinjungdong eating alley in Bucheon, with open-air yajang tables out on the lane

Korean · Bucheon-si Wonmi-gu, Jung-dong

Data as of · Published ·

Kkojumangtae Sinjungdong is a seafood pocha on the ground floor of a building inside the eating alley by Sinjungdong station in Bucheon. The registered name is the longer corporate one; the sign and the customers say Kkojumangtae. It leads with aged sashimi and cockles, but the menu runs down through pancakes, hot soups, stir-fries and rice pots, so it works less as a bar than as a supper you drink with. Five in the afternoon until three in the morning, with yajang — open-air tables — laid out on the lane in front; hall, terrace and yajang can each be booked separately. The posts we read run from March to September 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Almost everyone who chose this place chose it for the outdoor seating. There are three kinds — an air-conditioned indoor hall, a canopied terrace, and the yajang tables set out on the lane — and writers pick between them by the weather. Two found no yajang because it was raining, two because they arrived too early for it to be laid out, and two decided the heat made the indoor hall the better seat anyway. Two note that a Naver booking lets you choose which of the three you want. So the commonest way a visit here goes sideways is arriving to find the yajang not out — it is not a question of whether the place has it, but whether it was set up that evening.
  2. The spine of the reviews here is people who could not order more because the first dishes were too big. Twenty-two write about portions, and six of them do it as a complaint about what they missed: one meant to follow the pancake with sashimi and never got there; another reckons three dishes would burst four people; a third says two dishes defeated two. The practical consequence is that tasting your way around this menu requires more people — a pair gets two plates and stops.
  3. No price moved in seven months. The figures in a March 2026 post are the figures in a September one: ₩19,000 for the minari-and-cockle set, ₩40,000 for flounder-and-salmon, ₩24,000 for the half-and-half cockles, ₩6,000 for the corn cheese. Only the flounder sashimi shows two numbers, ₩38,000 and ₩58,000, and that is the small plate and the large plate, not a rise. Not one post calls the place expensive.
  4. 'Every piece of seafood and every ingredient is prepped by hand before opening, nothing made ahead, everything cooked to order' — that sentence appears in fourteen posts, near enough word for word. We did not count it as anything anyone saw. All fourteen attribute it ('apparently', 'they say'), and nobody watched the prep. What some did record is the consequence: one was warned on a busy night that the food would take a while; another says cooking to order means a slight wait; two others report dishes arriving fast on quiet evenings. On a busy evening, expect to wait.
  5. This place buys reviews with money, and the posts say so plainly. Five describe the promotion: write a Naver receipt review and you get a ₩5,000 coupon toward your next booking; tap 'follow' and you get the iron-plate fried eggs. One writer photographed the eggs she was given. Two more say a Naver booking brings free corn cheese. Two things follow for a reader — you can knock ₩5,000 off a return visit by writing something, and we cannot tell how much of the warmth piled up here was bought with that coupon.

Getting inside

Second flooryes 0 · no 1
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1

Not one of the thirty posts mentions a step, a ramp, a wheelchair, a pushchair or a lift. All we can say is that one writer found it easy to walk in because the restaurant is at street level. Whether there is a lip at the door, or what you cross to reach the outdoor tables, nobody looked. Four posts state that the toilets are separated by sex, but all four are copying the same line off the Naver listing, so we have not counted them. Two people actually went in — one reports a unisex toilet and a women-only one, clean, but bring your own paper; the other says the toilet is outside the restaurant. Whether they saw different things or described the same thing differently, we do not know.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One of the thirty posts has been taken out of the count, which leaves twenty-nine posts by twenty-nine people. It is a review only in its title: the body is the shop's Naver listing transcribed section by section — address, phone, hours, facilities, the shop's own blurb, menu prices, even the tally of how many people had left reviews. It never says what was eaten, never uses 'I ordered' or 'we had', and its photographs are the shop's own. It declares no sponsorship, but it is not an account of a visit, and leaving it in would only inflate the denominator under every count on this page.
  • Nobody parked. Fifteen posts touch on parking; nine of them do it in a copied bullet line ('🅿️parking – none') and are not counted. The six that remain put it in their own words — use the public lot nearby, or better, take the train — but not one of those six says they drove, or where they left the car. Which lot, what it costs, how far you walk: we do not know. What is certain is only that the restaurant has no lot of its own, and that this is a pedestrian eating alley with tables in the street.
  • The opening hours split between the spring posts and the summer ones, and we cannot tell which is current. The five posts written between March and late June all say the same thing: closed Mondays, Tuesday to Sunday 17:00–03:00. The eleven written from July to September all say something else: Monday to Saturday 17:00–03:00, Sundays until midnight, with no weekly closing day — and two state outright that there isn't one. This looks less like disagreement than like a change made around the turn of July, but what we read are posts, not the restaurant. One August post stands alone in claiming both Monday and Sunday are closed. Last orders are given as either 02:00 or 02:30. If you are planning a Monday, ring first — 0507-1443-5152.
  • Two posts declare sponsorship and four record something given free. The two are a writer who says she paid for everything beyond what was supplied, and one who was selected for a tasting panel. A third had her boyfriend pick up the bill. The remaining twenty-six say nothing at all, and saying nothing is not the same as paying. There are also two pairs of near-identical posts on the same days — two from 15 August share a sentence about the hall being cool the moment you step in, word for word, and two from 14 August share a line about generous portions at a fair price. We have not removed any of the four: each ordered different dishes at different prices and wrote down what they ate, and what separates a real visit from a filled-in brief is the record of eating, not the resemblance. But it is worth reading this page knowing that some of it was written to a supplied outline.
  • The shop calls itself a cockle-and-beef-tartare house; not one of the twenty-nine posts records eating the tartare. Four spotted it on the menu — ₩53,000 with sea urchin, ₩28,000 with minari — were visibly tempted, and ordered sashimi or cockles instead. The sea urchin goes the same way: eight noticed it, one ordered it, and seven end on 'next time'. The cockles are a different matter — counting the seasoned cockles that come with the minari pancake, more than half of everyone here ate them.
