Korean

Tobagi Sikdang

토박이식당 Tobagi means a born-and-bred local, and both posts pitch it as the place where Gyeongju locals eat.

Compiled from 2 blog posts read in fullSources →

A hairtail-fish set-meal restaurant on Bukgun-gil near Bomun Lake in Gyeongju. We read two posts, from July to September 2026, and both describe actual visits. One ordered two boneless braised hairtail (18,000 won each) with two stone-pot rice (4,000 won each); the other had the hairtail stew set. Both say starters and side dishes arrive before the main, and both finished by pouring hot water into the stone pot for scorched-rice tea.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Both posts call the hairtail sauce spicy, one adding that it was also a little sweet and not fishy.
  2. Both posts find it child-friendly: one noted high chairs, and the other, who went with a child, got a free seaweed soup for kids aged three to five.
  3. Both posts describe a large dining room; one mentions a private room, the other a group area at the back and wide spacing between tables. The 105-seat figure is the restaurant's own claim, repeated by one post.

Where it is

Map showing where Tobagi Sikdang is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Nobody says what floor the dining room is on or whether there are steps; one only mentions a tiled-roof hanok-style exterior.

Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or going in with a wheelchair. One post judged the layout stroller-friendly but did not say they brought one.

Nobody describes the toilets — where they are or whether they are separate. That means we don't know, not that there are none.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Both posts repeat the same phrases — line-caught hairtail, a locals' favourite, good for groups. Neither discloses sponsorship, but they may be working from the same promotional brief. The '30 years' history and the 5% group discount are the restaurant's own claims.
  • Opening hours in both posts come from copied info lines: daily 09:30–21:00 with a 15:30–17:00 break; only one gives last order at 20:00.
  • Prices come from a single September 2026 post (18,000 won braised hairtail, 4,000 won stone-pot rice); nobody listed the whole-fish sizes or the set price.
  • Only one post gives the phone number (0507-1310-7025), and nobody wrote about booking ahead.
  • No post arrived by bus; one says it is a minute from Donggungwon and Mulneoul Park and used the car park.
  • Neither post mentions queuing; one went after the lunch rush and waited about 15 minutes for the stew to arrive.
  • Only one post says who they went with (a family trip with a child); with two posts we can't say what kinds of outings it suits.
