A butcher-style hanu restaurant at 386 Sunam-ro, Ucheon-myeon, Hoengseong, close to the Saemal IC exit. You pick packs of 1++ Korean beef from the display at the entrance, pay, and grill them yourself over charcoal at the table. Prices posted per 100g: strip loin and rib finger 26,800 won, tenderloin 29,800 won, chuck flap 29,000–30,500 won, plus a 3,000-won table charge per person. Reported totals include 130,000 and 178,000 won for two and about 400,000 won for six adults. What sets it apart
- Buy the beef and the yukhoe follows: 17 of the 20 visit posts got raw beef free, and 7 were also given a drink, one of them free vending-machine coffee after the meal. One writer says it came free even after they had already ordered it. Several were handed doenjang to take home. One post, though, paid 2,000 won for an after-meal stew.
- Eleven posts call the staff kind, and they say why: when you buy several cuts, staff write the grilling order as numbers on the wrap and even mark where to slice large pieces. One post says side dishes were refilled before anyone asked, and others got hanger steak or neck chain cut to order when it was not on display. You still grill the meat yourself; one post notes staff kept checking even so.
- Eight posts describe the entrance and walls covered in celebrity autographs; one called the wall a signature museum. Claims like '50 years of tradition' come from the shop's own signage, so we did not count them.
- Six posts describe a large dining room. Two mention seating on a second floor; one of them also saw a private room and high chairs. You buy the meat downstairs and carry it up. One post found the tables well spaced but the room far from quiet.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the door, whether a wheelchair or stroller got in, or whether the second floor is reached by stairs or a lift — unknown, not absent. Two posts place the meat counter on the ground floor, so it is not a basement.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.

What we do not know
- Waits were mostly short: four posts walked straight in (a public-holiday lunch, a weekday lunch, a weekday evening, 5 pm). One put its name down and waited, only to find the second floor empty. Nobody described a weekend or holiday evening first-hand.
- Six posts found the prices fair and four were undecided (one said it was by no means a cheap dinner). Seven posts give the table charge as 3,000 won per person, one as 4,000. Meat is priced by the pack, so check the display on the day.
- One post (visit in July 2026) says the shop grew larger when it moved to its current site. It gives no date or former address and no other post mentions a move, so we do not know when it happened.
- Opening hours: all eight visit posts that list them say 09:00–21:00 daily, but every one is a copied info line. Nobody mentions a break time or last order; two list posts give 08:50 and 11:00–21:30 instead.
- Phone 033-345-7777. No post says it booked ahead; a party of six adults and two babies got a table without a reservation on a Chuseok evening, and one menu table notes the premium short rib is by phone reservation.
- Everyone drove. Posts repeat that it is about 800m from Saemal IC, next to the Ucheon police box, but nobody describes getting there by bus or train. One post warns the road from a nearby resort is dark at night with few streetlights.
