Myeongga Makguksu
명가막국수 Myeongga means a renowned house; makguksu is Chuncheon's buckwheat noodle dish, the only main on the menu here.
Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →
A makguksu house in the restaurant strip below Soyang Dam in Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon. There is one main, buckwheat noodles, in three sizes (8,000 / 10,000 / 13,000 won), plus boiled pork (20,000 won), buckwheat crepes, and potato and buckwheat pancakes, and acorn jelly. The only side dish is yeolmu kimchi. Many posts describe eating the noodles as bibim first, then pouring in broth from the kettle. We read 19 posts from June to October 2026, and 14 of them are actual visits. Two were about other places, and three were listicles that copied the listing. Prices did not change over that period.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- It is mild. Eight visit posts said so, and the word 'seumseum' (gently seasoned) comes up again and again. One writer found the first bite a bit bland but liked it more as they went on, and several suggest adjusting it with the sugar, vinegar and mustard on the table. One post adds that the aunt who brought them said it is not the taste it used to be.
- Portions are large; seven posts said so. One writer asked whether the large bowl was really a portion for two, and three posts had two people share one large bowl with a single side. One post counts two noodle bundles in a regular and three in a large.
- Weekends mean a wait. Posts that waited give 10 minutes (a holiday weekend), 30 minutes (a weekend, after 2 pm) and 40 to 50 minutes (a party of eleven). One post found the line short on a rainy day. Two were seated at once, on a weekday late lunch and at 11 am on a weekend, but both add that a line forms at weekend peaks or toward noon.
- Besides the hall tables there are back rooms. Three posts mention them, and two say they are floor seating with shoes off. One party of eleven was shown to a room, and one couple ate in a quiet room at a weekday lunch.

- One post used the 2,000-won Chuncheon local voucher handed back with the Soyang River Skywalk ticket to pay here.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Step at the entrance | yes 0 · no 1 (of 14 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 2 of 14 posts |
No post says what floor the dining room is on or whether there are steps. That means we don't know, not that there are none.
Only one post describes the entrance: no step inside, but a narrow passage, so a large stroller is easier folded. No post mentions entering by wheelchair.
Two posts say the toilet is inside. None says whether it is split by gender or accessible.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 17 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-10-05 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Every visit post either came by car or did not say. The bus details (Witsaembat terminus, routes 11 and 12 from Chuncheon Station, about 28 minutes) were looked up and copied, so we did not count them.
- Ten visit posts give the hours as 10:00 to 21:00 daily, mostly copied from the listing. One says it is open every day of the year; none mentions a break or last order.
- Four posts give the same phone number, 033-241-8443. The only mention of reservations is a copied listing line; no one reports booking.
- Four posts call the prices easy. For a meal, one pair paid 23,000 won for a large bowl and a potato pancake; two regular bowls come to 20,000 won.
