Sancheoneo Chuncheon Dakgalbi

산천어춘천닭갈비 Sancheoneo is the masu (cherry) trout; the name pairs it with Chuncheon dakgalbi, the city's stir-fried marinated chicken — posts say the first branch is in Hwacheon and this is the second.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

An iron-pan dakgalbi house on the second floor of the building beside The Venezia hotel in Hyoja-dong, Chuncheon (a 7-Eleven is on the ground floor). There is one main: dakgalbi at 16,000 won per 300 g portion, with udon noodles or fried rice at 3,000 won and cheese at 4,000. The marinated raw chicken arrives on the table's iron pan with cabbage, sweet potato and rice cake, staff stir-fry it, and the leftover sauce becomes fried rice. We read 30 posts dated 26 July to 20 October 2026, all from people who actually went. One disclosed sponsorship, two said they came through a blogger review programme, and the other 27 said nothing about who paid.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the cooking at your table. Of 30 posts, 22 say staff stir-fried the chicken or the fried rice. One writer timed it: the raw chicken went on the pan at 7:00 and the first lettuce wrap was at 7:17, adding that staff handle it start to finish. Another tried flipping it herself and kept getting caught by staff, who came back to do it.
  2. There are both floor tables and regular tables. Seventeen posts mention the shoes-off floor seating. One couple ended up on the floor because the tables were held for a group booking; another writer's party, including a soldier in combat boots, was given a table when a group of diners swapped with them.
  3. Thirteen posts say the portions are big. A portion is 300 g, so two portions is 600 g; one writer said two portions looked like three, and that one serving of fried rice looked like two. Two couples were too full after two portions to order fried rice. One post called the amount just right.
  4. It looks red but most say it isn't hot: ten posts said it was not spicy. Sweetness splits five to three — five found it sweet, three said it wasn't. On salt, one post found it fairly salty and three said it wasn't.
4 more
  1. The wall at the second-floor entrance is covered in autographs: 14 posts saw them, one counting more than ten. Posts that name specific celebrities were repeating what they'd been told, so we didn't count them. Inside, several posts describe Avengers puzzles, figures and a model-car cabinet.
  2. Three posts came with children and four saw high chairs. Many posts mention the children's rice (4,000 won) on the menu and three ordered it; one also noticed children's tableware.
  3. Eight posts mention a receipt-review offer via a QR code on the table; several say one review gets a soft drink and two get soju or beer.
  4. Prices didn't change over the three months. Several couples paid 32,000 won for two portions; three portions plus udon and fried rice came to 54,000 won, and a family of two adults and two children paid 51,000 won for three portions with rice. Two posts called it good value; none called it expensive.

Getting inside

Second floor10 of 27 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 9 (of 27 posts read)
Separate restrooms1 of 27 posts

You enter from the alley beside the ground-floor convenience store and climb stairs. Ten posts describe going up to the second floor, eight of them mentioning the stairs; one counted just six steps, 'more like floor one and a half'. One writer couldn't find the alley entrance until someone walked out of it.

We don't know whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. No post mentions a lift or an entrance step — not that there isn't one, just that nobody wrote about it. Eight posts do mention stairs up to the second floor.

It isn't clear whether the toilet is inside the restaurant: one post says it's on the same floor, another that it's right beside the entrance. One says men's and women's toilets are separate and clean.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • We know little about getting there by bus or train. One post says it's near Palho Square with plenty of passing buses. Six posts drove, and several walked over from the hotel next door. The '10 minutes by car from the stations' line is copied from listing info.
  • We know little about waits. One post walked straight in. Another booked for 7:30 pm and found every table full; another arrived at the noon opening on a Sunday and was first in. Three posts say they booked ahead.
  • Opening hours come almost entirely from pasted listing blocks. Twenty posts give hours; the common version is Mon and Wed–Fri 11:30–21:00, Tue 17:00–21:00, Sun 12:00–21:00, with a 15:00–17:00 break. Saturday closing splits seven to three between 21:30 and 21:00. Eight posts say it closes on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. One post gives 11:00–22:00 daily, but its address and phone number don't match the others, so we left it out.
  • The phone number most posts give is 0507-1338-7355; two give 033-257-7355. Naver booking is mentioned in copied listing info, and three posts say they actually reserved.
  • Many posts carry the same block of hashtags, and two match exactly, six tags in the same order — a sign of commissioned posts. Their texts differ and each records an actual meal, so we counted them.
