Compiled from 16 blog posts read in fullSources →

A soft-tofu restaurant on Heonhwa-ro, close to Jeongdongjin Station in Gangneung. The core dishes are seafood jjamppong sundubu and the plain white chodang sundubu set meal, with tofu hot pot, plain tofu, buckwheat crepes and seafood pancake on the side. Posts from August 2026 on give 15,000 won for the jjamppong sundubu and 11,000 won for the set meal (earlier, 14,000 and 10,000). You order from a kiosk or tablet at the table and refill side dishes yourself at a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts dated 2 July to 16 October 2026; 17 of them describe actually eating there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The jjamppong sundubu and the hot pot are spicy: 14 of the 17 visit posts call them hot or fiery, and two compare the heat to Shin Ramyun. One writer said the black pepper was so strong it made them cough; another found it a little salty and mixed it with the plain set meal. Those avoiding heat ordered the white chodang sundubu.
  2. Seven posts mention a self-serve bar for extra side dishes; the basic spread they list includes stir-fried anchovies, white kimchi, cubed radish kimchi and braised potatoes.
  3. Ordering happens at the table: five posts describe a kiosk or tablet at each seat. One notes that you still pay on the way out.
  4. Two posts came by train and walked over, one taking about two minutes from Jeongdongjin Station and the other about five; both had makgeolli since nobody was driving.

Posts saying you can park5 of 16 posts

Five posts say they parked right in front of the restaurant; one puts the space at about six or seven cars. The 'large car park' in the promotional posts is copied text and we did not count it.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

The address and the promotional posts say the restaurant occupies the first and second floors, but no visit post mentions sitting upstairs or taking stairs. We don't know which floor you will be seated on.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair fits. One post mentions a high chair for their baby, and one says shoes go into a rack at the back before you enter — no other post mentions taking shoes off. That is an absence of reports, not evidence either way.

Nobody wrote about the toilets — whether they are inside or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 13 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-152 posts in one day
2026-10-142 posts in one day
2026-10-134 posts in one day
2026-10-123 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices went up. Posts through July (including a visit in early June) give 14,000 won for the seafood jjamppong sundubu and 10,000 won for the set meal; posts from 3 August give 15,000 and 11,000. A meal in these posts is one tofu dish plus a side such as buckwheat crepes (8,000 won) or seafood pancake (15,000 won). Nobody called it expensive; one called it good value and another found the 8,000-won crepes very reasonable.
  • Waiting varies. Three posts from 25 July, 30 July and 5 August waited or saw a queue form behind them, while two from 12 August (a weekday) and 18 September (a Monday morning) found it quiet. This looks like summer-holiday lunchtimes versus weekday mornings rather than a change. No post says how many minutes the wait was.
  • Only one post (September 2026) says you take your shoes off; the same post describes long tables with burners, so we can't tell whether seating is on the floor or on chairs.
  • Most posts give opening hours of 05:30 to 19:30, closed Tuesdays (ten and nine posts respectively), though every one of these is copied into an info block. Two posts from July 2026 give 04:30 to 20:00 or 'from 4:30 a.m.' instead. One late-lunch visitor noted there is no afternoon break.
  • Many posts give the same phone number, 033-644-8853. One info block says Naver booking is available, but no post describes booking ahead or calling.
  • Fourteen posts from 12–16 October 2026 and two from 30 July follow one template — opens at 5:30 a.m., run for over 30 years, award for hygiene and taste, two floors, parking — and four of them disclose a writing fee. We counted only the three that name dishes they ate as visits, and we treat the '30 years', 'award' and 'on TV' lines as the restaurant's own claims, not evidence.
