What 8 visitors said

We read 30 blog posts a year found by the festival's name. From 2023 we picked 8 that describe an actual visit; in 2024 and 2025 we read 30 each but found no first-hand visits. So every visitor experience here is from the 2023 edition; facts about this year come only from the Korea Tourism Organization listing and the Muan tourism website.

Who goes, and when

In 2023 visitors were mostly locals: Namak residents, families, young people invited to a youth gathering and a booth vendor. One noted lots of secondary-school pupils. It reads as a local festival rather than a tourist draw.

Who they went with

5 of the 8 posts did not say.

Visiting from abroad

None of the posts mention foreign visitors or English signage, and we found no English details for the festival itself, though the Muan tourism site has an English menu. The official listing says nothing about booking; most of it is free and you can simply turn up, but which programmes are paid is not yet published. Expect a Korean-language local event: a translation app helps.

Weather and crowds

It is an outdoor park festival in late November. 5 of the 8 posts from 2023 mention rain, cold or strong wind: rain on the Friday, wind strong enough on the Saturday to move children's workshops indoors, and a milder, busier Sunday. Friday daytime before the main events was quiet; evening concerts were crowded at the front. Pack a waterproof and a warm coat, and go on Friday daytime for thinner crowds. Check the forecast before you go.

Getting there and access

The venue is Namak Central Park in Namak new town, Samhyang-eup, Muan, on the edge of Mokpo. This year's shuttle buses are not yet announced; the Muan tourism site has a shuttle page under YD Festival. In 2023 shuttles stopped in central Namak and ran from outlying towns. Roads around the park were closed and temporary car parks got busy, so take a taxi or the shuttle rather than drive. Show the driver the Korean name below.

None of the posts we picked mention wheelchairs, pushchairs or toilets, so we could not confirm access. In 2023 there were tables and chairs among the food trucks and heaters at the ends of the seating. Ask Muan County's tourism office (061-450-5474) about paths and accessible toilets before you go.

Year by year

Autumn 2023

2023 ran 17–19 November. It had an opening concert (Space A, Supervee, Kisum, Hi-Key), sets by Woody, DK and YB, dance battles and a drone show; the opening parade featured Harley-Davidsons, big drums and BMX. There was a jeans-and-white-top dress-code giveaway, a gathering of 100 local young people, a tech hall with drones, VR and AI, and chrysanthemum displays. Saturday's children's workshops moved indoors to the Namak youth centre because of wind.

Tips from people who went

  • Bring an umbrella or waterproof and a warm layer.
  • Arrive early if you want to be near the stage for evening concerts.
  • Visit booths in daytime; in 2023 most had closed by concert time.
  • Get the official timetable in advance; on-site maps and schedules were hard to spot.
  • Leave the car; use the shuttle, bus or a taxi.
  • Watch for a dress-code giveaway like the one in 2023.
