Korea's largest traditional-liquor fair: makgeolli, yakju, fruit wines and distilled spirits from breweries nationwide, to taste and buy under one roof. This year it runs Fri 13 – Sun 15 November 2026 at aT Center Exhibition Hall 1, Yangjae, Seoul, 13:00–20:00 (19:00 on the last day). The official listing gives admission as ₩15,000. Visiting from abroad

Tickets: in past years you could pay at the door, and pre-registering on thesool.com (Korean site with an ENG menu) was cheaper; whether that works without a Korean phone number we could not confirm. We found no announced English guide. 5 of 25 posts saw many foreign visitors, mostly at the makgeolli and nuruk sessions. Past visitors advise carrying ID, so bring your passport.

Weather and crowds

Mid-November in Seoul is cold, but the fair is indoors. 11 of 25 posts called it busy or packed. Even the weekday opening day had queues at the door and popular stands; weekends were busier. For thinner crowds go on a weekday, ideally at opening; late in the day some stands had sold out or were packing up.

Getting there and access

Take the Shinbundang Line to Yangjae Citizen's Forest station, Exit 4; the hall is a one- or two-minute walk. 7 of 25 posts arrived this way or by subway. By taxi, show the driver the Korean address below and say ‘aT Center’. Parking under the hall was ₩700 per 10 minutes last year and tight; drivers cannot taste. No shuttle has been announced.

No post covered wheelchair or pushchair access, so we cannot confirm it. 3 of 25 posts found few or no seats in the hall and food area. One mentioned an escalator at Exit 4; lifts and toilets were not described. Ring the organisers on 02-6952-9498 before you go.

Year by year

Autumn 2023

2023 ran 24–26 November. Visitors paid ₩10,000 and got jerky, a glass and food vouchers; they mention a celebrity opening, stand-up comedy, nuruk treading, a pre-booked makgeolli class and a bingo hunt.

Autumn 2024

2024 ran 15–17 November: ₩10,000 at the door, ₩7,000–8,000 in advance, with a wristband valid all three days. It had an opening parade, a liquor auction, a personality-based drink finder and a Korean Sool Bar tasting area.

Autumn 2025

2025 ran 14–16 November: ₩5,000 early-bird, ₩7,000 second round, ₩10,000 at the door. New were an AI drink finder, a mission tour, a purchase-receipt prize draw and expert talks; a free flower fair ran upstairs.

Tips from people who went

  • Pre-registration was cheaper in past years; check thesool.com for this year's offer.
  • Eat first and carry water to rinse between tastings.
  • Start with low-strength makgeolli; leave spirits till last.
  • Buying? Bring a folding trolley or wheeled bag.
  • Use the food vouchers in the entry bag (not valid for drink).
  • Use the leaflet map and start with the award winners.
  • Limited bottles go early; buy what you like on the spot.
  • Take the subway, not a car.
