If you are curious about Korean liquor beyond green-bottle soju, this is the place: a three-day expo at KINTEX, run by the national farmers' co-op, where brewers from across the country pour makgeolli, yakju, cheongju and rice spirits for free tasting, alongside rice snacks, rice cakes and other rice products at fair-only prices. There are makgeolli-brewing classes, cocktail contests and trot concerts. The 2026 edition runs 27–29 November (Friday to Sunday) in KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, Hall 2, free with online pre-registration. We read Korean blog posts from people who went in 2024 and 2025.

We searched Naver, the blog platform most Koreans use, for posts written during each expo and the month after (30 a year), read every one to the end, kept only visitors (22 and 20), and used ten from 2024 and nine from 2025. Who goes, and when

Mostly friends; also people on their own, couples and groups. In 2025 the Lee Chan-won concert brought a crowd of older fans, and one writer noticed an older audience overall. One came from the far provinces by bus. Weekday openings were quiet, though in 2024 tour coaches arrived right at opening.

Visiting from abroad

None of the posts mention foreign visitors or English support — but tasting needs little language, and brewers are happy to pour. Bring photo ID (your passport): it was checked for tastings. Pre-registration is in Korean; in 2024 visitors who hadn't pre-registered paid ₩5,000 at the door. It is a good place to find bottles to take home, with parcel delivery within Korea on site.

Weather and crowds

It is indoors (outside was cold, one writer notes). Only one of the 19 posts calls it crowded; several found it pleasantly quiet and wondered whether it was under-promoted.

Getting there and access

You will be tasting, so leave the car. Walk from Daehwa station on Line 3 (a shuttle ran in 2024) or, in 2025, from KINTEX station exit 1. KINTEX parking cost ₩1,200 per 20 minutes or ₩18,000 a day in 2025; construction meant using the Center 2 car park and a detour. If you plan to buy bottles, bring a wheeled bag or use the on-site parcel service.

There was a lift beside the escalator for strollers and anyone with limited mobility, toilets in each corner of the hall, plenty of seating, and lockers (which can be full at weekends).

Year by year

Autumn 2024

6–8 December. Free with pre-registration, ₩5,000 at the door. Wristbands were collected on a different floor from the entrance; a Christmas photo zone and rice-clay kids' corner.

Autumn 2025

28–30 November. Free all three days with pre-registration; Lee Chan-won and Park Hye-shin performed and actor Jung Joon-ho hosted a tasting. A purchase receipt got you a concert seat. Several felt it was too drink-heavy.
