Weather and crowds

Few posts mention weather, but people did find queuing cold and one was caught in a sudden shower — dress warmly. Weekend evenings were the busiest; weekday openings and arrivals before 5pm had little or no queue. Organisers say ticketing will cut waits this year; whether it does is unknown. Weekdays open at 4pm.

Getting there and access

The venue is the Busan Cinema Center, 120 Suyeonggangbyeon-daero, Haeundae-gu. No shuttle has been announced. Last year's visitors recommend Metro Line 2 to Centum City station, then walking through the Shinsegae Centum City basement and across two crossings. A taxi is simple: show the driver the Korean name below. Parking had no discounts and the cinema car park backed up after 6pm. Ignore 2024 posts about Homeplus parking — that year was at a different site in Yeongdo.

Organisers have published nothing on access. Last year, the BIFF Hill building's lift made wheelchair and pushchair access easier, and there was a nursing room. Visitors leaving for the toilets had their hand stamp checked to re-enter. At peak times the crowds made getting around hard.

Year by year

Autumn 2024

2024 ran 13–29 December at a different site — a harbourside warehouse next to Homeplus in Yeongdo. Weekdays opened at 4pm, the snow show became hourly due to demand, and there were cape hire and caricature stalls. A pushchair park was added within the first week. Seating was the main complaint.

Autumn 2025

2025 ran 27 November–25 December, the first year at the Busan Cinema Center. General entry was free, with a paid Fast Track (from ₩14,900) sold weekly through a Korean payment app. Entry came with a hand stamp and a mock 'passport control'; there was a ₩5,000 carousel, snow on the hour and a Santa parade. Some found the stamp ink smudged onto sleeves. Organisers say 450,000 people came.

Tips from people who went

  • Entry is ticketed this year: check the official site for prices and sales before travelling.
  • Weekdays open at 4pm; weekends and the Christmas period from 11am, closing 10pm.
  • Last year, weekdays, opening time and before 5pm were quietest.
  • Be at the tree square a few minutes before the hour for the snow; photograph the tree from the far side.
  • Get food early and favour stalls that serve straight away; sharing several dishes works well.
  • Take the metro rather than driving.
  • Gift stalls are tempting — set a budget.
