Jinmi Makchang
진미막창 Jinmi (珍味) means a rare delicacy — the menu itself splits the word into its 珍 and 味 sets — and makchang is grilled pork large intestine, Daegu's signature dish.

A makchang grill house at 34 Gongpyeong-ro in Jung-gu, Daegu, across from the Samdeok fire station off Dongseong-ro. The intestines arrive par-grilled and you finish them on the table grill; greens, eggplant, mushrooms and rice cakes for grilling come from a self-serve bar. A portion of makchang is 12,000 won and the Makjjongkku set (two portions plus potato makchang and potato balls) is 36,000 won, the same in June and October 2026. We read 30 posts from 25 June to 27 October 2026; 15 of them repeat the same template word for word and were not counted, so the figures below come from the 15 posts by people who actually ate there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect to queue. Six of the 15 visit posts waited. One got in after exactly an hour (tenth in line on arrival); another headlined a wait of 1 hour 20 minutes. A June visitor arrived before opening and still found a line, with names called six tables at a time every 15 to 20 minutes. A Saturday visitor found the room full by 4:50 for a 5:00 opening and a queue forming around 6. One post noted there is no remote waitlist app, only on-site waiting; three saw waiting chairs out front.
- Meat is par-grilled in the kitchen before it reaches you — six posts said so, and one noted the table grill runs hot enough to finish things fast. Nine posts said there was no gamey smell. The 36-hour kelp ageing and applewood smoking are the house's own claims, repeated by bloggers, and we don't count them.
- Two posts (June and October 2026) said the first order must be at least three portions, and several noted the potato makchang is limited to one per table. Five said ordering is by tablet at the table.
- Eight posts called the room large; one counted about 20 tables, another said they are mostly four-tops. Four saw private or sliding-door rooms for groups, and two mentioned a TV showing baseball.

Parking
2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Two posts said in their own words there is no dedicated parking; the rest repeat a copied 'no parking' line. Nobody described actually driving and parking. The nearby paid lots (e.g. 7,000 won a day) are copied listings.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 2 of 15 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 15 posts |
No one described which floor it is on from experience; the '1st floor' in the address is copied text.
Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that it's fine.
Two posts said the toilet is inside the restaurant; one placed it at the very back and noted separate men's and women's rooms.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 15 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The potato makchang divides people: four posts liked it, four said it was greasy or not what they expected and preferred the plain makchang.
- Fifteen posts published between 23 and 27 October 2026 repeat the same phrases in the same order and give no prices or dates. We treated them as commissioned copy and left them out of every count above.
- Only one post actually came by metro, walking from Jungangno station on Line 1. The '580 m from Kyungpook National University Hospital station exit 1' line is copied directions.
- Nine posts give the same hours — 5 pm to 1 am, until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays — and three say it never closes. Most of these are copied listings, so they are the hours the restaurant registered.
- Per-dish prices are well documented (12,000 won for makchang, 36,000 for the set), but no one wrote what a whole meal cost. One post said prices are about the same as other makchang specialists.
- Six posts list the phone number 053-472-9229. The rule that only groups of five or more can book via Naver is copied text; one visitor phoned ahead to ask how many tables were waiting and was told about eight.
