Daraewon Makchang
다래원막창 Darae is the Korean hardy kiwi and won a garden, though no post explains the name; makchang is grilled pork or beef large intestine, the house's main dish.

A grilled-intestine house on the Nampyeong-ri crossroads corner at 298 Pyeongni-ro, Seo-gu, Daegu. Seating is split between a tented, open-sided yard and an indoor hall; you grill raw pork makchang (12,000 won a portion) over charcoal at the table, dip it in makjang, and finish with tin-bowl bibimbap (4,000 won) and doenjang stew (2,000 won). Ten posts noted the first order must be at least three portions, mixed as you like. We read 30 posts from 25 August to 26 October 2026; 29 describe an actual visit. The '1978' and 'fifty-year-old' lines come from the sign and the house's own claims.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The makchang is par-grilled in the kitchen and brought back; ten posts got it this way, usually with a few raw pieces left on your grill while the rest is cooked. Two posts had to ask for it, one was told it is done on quiet days, and another advised asking because staff may forget when busy. Five posts said staff or the owner came to cut the meat or turn down the fire at the table.
- Expect to wait at dinner. Five posts waited or saw a full waiting list; one did not, having arrived early. One arrived around 7:30 and was first on the list; another found every table but their booked one taken at 8 pm, with a queue forming behind. One post watched four tables become a full house within ten minutes of 6:30 pm on a Wednesday. One post mentioned chairs outside for waiting, and two came with a Naver booking.
- Ten posts said the makchang had no off smell, including one diner who is usually sensitive to it; two described it as chewy and old-style rather than the soft, heavily aged kind. The fruit-aging claim is the house's own and we did not count it.
- Writing a Naver review gets you either shaved-ice patbingsu or a puffed steamed egg; seven posts received it or saw it running. A Naver booking coupon for ramyeon or patbingsu appears in many copied info blocks.

- Eleven posts called the place roomy: beyond the tented yard there is an indoor hall and a further connected room suited to group dinners. One post said the far side is partly closed off 'a bit like a room', without calling it a private room. Two noticed a small running-water feature in the middle.
- Two posts used public transport: one came by bus after work, one went home by subway. The '555 m from exit 19 of Duryu Station' line is copied info.
- Four posts saw walls full of celebrity autographs; one named trot singer Song Ga-in, another noted them along the way to the restroom.

Parking
4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Parking is on the gravel lot in front. Of the posts that described it first-hand, four found space (estimating two to four cars) and one, on a weekend evening, found none and suggested a nearby paid lot. Parking in front of the KCC Paint shop next door appears mostly in copied info. Five posts came by car.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Two posts used public transport: one came by bus after work, one went home by subway. The '555 m from exit 19 of Duryu Station' line is copied info.
Getting inside
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 27 posts |
|---|
No post says what floor the dining area is on or whether there are steps. That means nobody mentioned it, not that there are none.
No post mentions a threshold or entering with a wheelchair or stroller. Several note the front is a gravel lot; one says you approach along the sidewalk from the crosswalk, and another mentions a separate back door.
No post says whether the restroom is inside or outside. One post said first-hand that it is separated by gender and clean; the gender split also appears in copied info.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices appear to have gone up. September 2026 posts list pork belly and neck at 12,000 won and the large beef rib finger at 39,000 won; from 4 October posts show belly at 13,000 won, and a 19 October post shows neck at 13,000 won and the rib finger at 45,000 won (that last figure in one post only, size not given). Pork makchang stayed at 12,000 won throughout. One post gave a full bill: three portions of makchang, bibimbap, two rice and stew came to 44,000 won. Five posts called it good value.
- Six posts said portions were generous, but the stated weight of a makchang portion differs: 130 g in one post, 160 g in another. One post said a neck portion is 180 g.
- Opening hours appear in 26 posts, all in copied info blocks: 25 say daily 4:30 pm to 12:30 am, one says until 1 am. There was a one-day closure for Chuseok on 25 September 2026.
- Most posts list the phone as 0507-1371-0307; one gives 053-521-0307. Several mention bookings through Naver.
- Thirty posts landed within two months, nearly all sharing the same info block (hours, gravel-lot parking, distance from Duryu Station, booking coupon) and hashtags. Two disclose sponsorship; the rest say nothing. Parking, restroom and high-chair details in that block are copied and we did not count them.
