Geolliveo Makchang's Jongno branch is a pork-intestine grill house in the Jongno eating alley of Jung-gu, Daegu. Intestine, pork belly, pork neck and gabrisal all cost 13,000 won a serving, and posts say the only side on the menu is a 3,000-won mushroom doenjang stew. The first order has to be at least three servings, so even two people start at 39,000 won. The intestine arrives par-grilled and cut; you finish it over charcoal at round tables and dip it in makjang sauce. We read 24 posts published between 28 September and 26 October 2026. We set aside 4 that were about the Dongseongno or main branch or could not be tied to this branch, and did not count 4 more that were lists, plans or repeat write-ups of the same visit. That leaves 16 first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Six posts waited and four walked straight in. The waits: an hour at 6:20 pm on a Saturday, an hour and a half on 4 October, more than 40 minutes for a party of six at 8 pm on Hangul Day, an hour on a rainy May holiday, and about 20 minutes behind six groups in September. One writer walked in at the 2 pm opening but saw a long line when passing at night. The four who got in at once arrived around 4, 5 and 6 pm and at 7:40 pm on a Sunday. You write your name and party size on a chalkboard by the counter; one post says there are separate lists for regular and large groups, and another says no phone number is taken, so you have to stay out front until your name is called.
  2. Ten posts say the intestine comes out par-grilled. One says it is browned 80–90 percent of the way in the kitchen and another that it is already cut to bite size, so it only needs a short time on the grill. On speed, the posts split one to one: one says it comes out quickly, another that it took long enough that they started drinking first.
  3. Five posts say the first order must be at least three servings, even for two people. Three posts call the portions large; one pair who ate three servings said they were stuffed.
  4. Five posts say each table gets a free stick of jjondeugi, an old-fashioned chewy snack you toast on the grill as a palate cleanser.
2 more
  1. Three posts mention walls and an entrance covered with baseball players' autographs and signed balls. One says the TV was showing the Samsung home game.
  2. Five posts say there was no off smell. One differs, saying it had a slightly funky smell and was hard to recommend.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 16 posts

Only one post describes parking first-hand: a lot in the alley right beside the restaurant that did not look big. The paid rate of 2,500 won per hour, capped at 10,000 won, comes from copied info blocks, and one post says there is no dedicated lot. One writer recommends coming on foot.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No one describes which floor the restaurant is on or whether there are stairs; only the street address says ground floor.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, including the family who came with two children. That means no one wrote about it, not that access is impossible.

No one says whether the restroom is inside the restaurant. One post says it was very clean; a separate men's/women's restroom appears only in a copied info block, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 20 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Accounts of the room split: two call it roomy, two say the round tables are packed close together, and one calls it about average. Two say it is not a quiet place.
  • The nearby Jungangno Station exit 1 appears only in two copied info blocks; no one describes actually walking from the station.
  • Seven copied info blocks agree on opening hours of 2 pm to 12:30 am, and five of them add last order at midnight with last entry at 11:30 pm. One post from a May 2026 visit gives 4 pm to 2 am instead; we cannot tell whether the hours changed or the writer copied them wrong. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Five posts give the phone number 0507-1473-9295 and one gives 053-214-9292. Two posts say there are no reservations and only on-site waiting, but no one says they confirmed this by phone.
  • Three posts agree on 13,000 won a serving, but no one gives the total bill for a meal, and no post lists drink prices.
  • One post came from an education association's account and reads like polished copy with no prices, times or specific details, so it may be commissioned. From it we counted only the par-grilling and that the writer went with friends.
