A makchang (grilled intestine) shop on the street beside Donggu Market in Hyomok-dong, eastern Daegu. You grill raw pork intestine yourself on the table grill, dip it in makjang sauce, wrap it in white kimchi, and finish with soybean stew (2,000 won) and rice. Pork intestine is 12,000 won a portion with a three-portion minimum on the first order, so even a pair starts at 36,000 won; one post said three people paid 89,000 won for five portions of intestine, one of pork belly, stew and drinks. What sets it apart

One put their name down 32nd around 6 pm on a Saturday with 15 groups ahead; another found two groups waiting at 9:50 pm on a Saturday. You write your own name and party size on a board at the door — one post said they didn't spot the pen, waited for staff, and the people behind them signed first. The three posts with no wait went on a weekday between 3 and 4 pm or around 11:20 am.

There is an upstairs. Ten posts mentioned the second floor, many saying they were sent up when the ground floor was full. It has its own entrance — posts describe a staircase tucked to the right of the shop, reached through the side alley and marked with an arrow sign. Two posts called the upstairs roomy.
No post said whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. We only know the upstairs is reached by a separate staircase; no one mentioned a lift.

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Posts disagree on who does the grilling: one said staff trimmed the intestine and laid it on the grill, one said you grill it yourself and manage the heat, and two only said the owner tipped or piled it onto the grill.
- One post said the intestine comes raw, not pre-grilled; another wrote that it is 'not raw'. We could not tell whether they meant different things.
- Prices are consistent across August–October 2026 posts: pork intestine 12,000 won, beef intestine 18,000, stew 2,000, drinks 4,000. But two posts gave the pork portion as 120 g and one as 100 g. One post said prices had gone up since earlier visits without saying from what or when.
- Fourteen posts all list opening hours as daily 11 am to 1 am, though almost all copied the listing; one post found three tables already eating at 11:20 am. Nine posts gave the phone number 053-743-9636; none said whether you can book.
- Two posts said they were surprised to see the intestine labelled as US-origin. The claim that it is boiled and cleaned in-house every morning appears only as hearsay.
