Data as of · Published ·
Ogine Sikdang is a neighbourhood grill house in a back lane of Bokdae-dong, Cheongju, on the block behind the Bokdae discount market. It is on the ground floor and a married couple run it between them, one in the kitchen and one in the room. Two things are sold here: 200g of Korean pork belly for ₩14,000, and four kinds of yukgaejang built on beef-bone stock. Eleven in the morning to ten at night, closed from two to four. We read twenty-nine posts, written between September 2024 and August 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart
- What this place does is give things away. Twenty-six of the twenty-nine posts record at least one. Three keep recurring: beef tripe and raw liver, listed at ₩10,000 but simply brought out with a meat order — twenty-one mention it and nobody paid; the soybean stew, which twelve state plainly comes with the meal; and sikhye, the sweet rice drink, which eleven were handed on the way out. Six posts record the owner asking first whether they eat tripe.
- The self-serve bar is how people eat here. Twenty-five posts describe it: a corner by the door with kimchi, blanched bracken and seasoned bean sprouts, which you fetch and grill beside your pork. Six say some version of going back for thirds, or of helping themselves without feeling watched. Scissors, tongs, side plates and disposable aprons are there too. Two note that few grill houses give all three.
- Fourteen posts are partly about the owners. What they did overlaps in specifics: four say that once their table was the last one, the owner came over and grilled the meat for them; three were told the bracken is already cooked, so just warm it; three were asked mid-meal whether the food suited them. One was told about the marathon medals on the wall, another about a daughter sent abroad to study. Five record being told that the banchan and the sauce are made in house.
- Barley tea comes instead of water. Fifteen posts mention it; five of them phrase it as *not* plain water from a cooler. Six call it barley tea, two call it Solomon's-seal tea, one thinks it tasted of green tea. One winter visitor watched it being brewed in a kettle on the stove by the door.
- There are seats outside. Nine posts mention them — but it is not a terrace: the two writers who counted say one outdoor table. None of the nine actually sat there. Eight write some form of *it would be lovely when the weather turns*; one says it was too hot and went indoors.
- Seventeen posts say they will come back, and fourteen of them say the same thing: next time, for the yukgaejang. People come for the pork, watch the next table's soup or read the banner outside, and leave with a plan. Only three actually ate it — two the rib version, one the smaller rib version. Three posts say they had been before; two of those are locals — one calls herself a seven-year regular, the other writes that it is good again every time.
- Twelve posts call it clean for a grill house, and they point at the same things: four at a grill plate with no old grease on it, two at tables that were not sticky. One asked, and records the answer — it is steam-cleaned every morning.
- No post calls it expensive. The three that talk about price all say the opposite, and for the same reason: a portion is 200g. One contrasts it with the 180g — sometimes 150g — that passes for a portion elsewhere; another says few places still give 200g. A third, looking at four beef ribs in a ₩15,000 soup, wonders how there is anything left in it for the kitchen.

Parking
5 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 5 of 29 posts |

There is no car park; people leave the car on the roadside in front. Sixteen posts mention parking, but only five actually parked — the other eleven are a line in a copied info block. The five do not agree. One arriving at noon found it half empty; two found a marked bay in front and had no trouble; but one arriving at seven on a weekday evening says the roadside was not easy and ended up in the alley behind, which was open.

Getting there

Getting inside
| Second floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 29 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 1 of 29 posts |
It is on the ground floor — and exactly one post says so, a June 2025 one that mentions the floor in passing while pointing at the outdoor table. The other twenty-eight never raise the question. Not one says whether there are steps at the door or whether you walk straight in.
No post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair can get in. Across all twenty-nine, the words for wheelchair, pushchair, ramp, threshold and step never appear once — we scanned by machine and checked by hand. Whether there is a lip at the door, we do not know. Five posts do mention high chairs for children, but that is about the seat, not about the way in.
One person looked at the toilet and wrote about it — a September 2025 post that says it is indoors and that this was convenient. Two others mention toilets, but both copied: one is an icon-bulleted info line, the other a block lifted whole from the shop's Naver listing (booking, groups, parking, takeaway, wi-fi, separate men's and women's). Whether they are in fact separate, or what they are like, nobody went and saw.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Only two writers say how they got here without a car. One walked from the Gagyeong bus terminal and found it quicker than expected; the other says only that the bus was easy. Not one post names a bus number or a stop. A third quotes twenty minutes on foot from the front gate of Chungbuk National University and twenty-six from the department store — but those are map distances, not a walk anyone describes.
- Nobody queued. In twenty-nine posts there is not one account of waiting. Four did find the room full: two on a Friday evening, one who had to wait for a company dinner to leave before photographing the room, and one at six on a weekend who watched the tables fill and reckoned she had only just beaten a queue. One arriving at seven on a weekday found it quiet. The room holds four to six tables.
- One of the thirty confirmed posts was dropped, leaving twenty-nine posts by twenty-nine people. The one we dropped is a month-in-the-life diary in which the 'Ogine' mentioned is a different restaurant — Ogine Makchang, over in Cheongwon-gu — another shop in the same city whose name starts the same way. This grill house never appears in it.
- Two posts disclose that the meal was sponsored. One says so in its opening line; the other says nothing in the body and carries a single #sponsored hashtag at the very bottom. The remaining twenty-seven say nothing either way — which is not the same as saying they paid. No post states that it did.
- On opening hours the posts mostly agree, with three lone exceptions. Twenty-three give eleven in the morning; one says ten. Eleven say Monday to Saturday; one says Monday to Friday. Nineteen say closed on Sundays; one says the first and third Thursday of each month. We cannot tell which is current. On the two-to-four break, all twenty that mention it agree.
- The posts contradict each other on when the free tripe is served. Two say autumn through spring; one says spring through autumn — opposite halves of the year. Since posts from every season record being given it, we cannot even say the season matters.
