Okdoenjang Busan Centum City

옥된장 부산센텀시티점 Ok (屋) means house and doenjang is Korean fermented soybean paste — the chain says the name stands for the doenjang stew a mother makes at home.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A doenjang- and suyuk-hotpot restaurant on the ground floor of the Centum Premier Hotel near Centum City station in Busan, one branch of a chain. We read 25 posts from 11 May to 24 October 2026, and all 25 describe an actual visit. The usual order is the two-person Janchisang set (39,000 won): a mixed beef suyuk hotpot, a minari pancake and spicy tendon stir-fry together; the three-person set is 59,000 won. Every table has an induction burner, braised kimchi with pork and green-onion kimchi come free, and each diner gets a raw egg and a tiny pan to fry it. Posts describe solo doenjang lunches by day and drinking with food at night.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eighteen posts call the minari pancake crisp. They say it is practically fried and audibly crunchy under the scissors; one notes it sits on a rack so it never goes soggy, another that the plate is built to drain the oil. You choose squid, dried shrimp or pond snail.
  2. Twelve posts say the portions are large. One doubted the 'extra-small' hotpot was really that size; three women could not finish the three-person set; several say the two-person set would feed three.
  3. Twelve posts say you order on a tablet at the table; one notes there is no paper menu, another ordered kimchi refills through it.
  4. Eleven posts mention a wall of celebrity autographs, some naming who they saw. Claims that TV food personalities raved about it are hearsay and we did not count them.
4 more
  1. Three posts waited: a Friday dinner with a long line outside, a film-festival evening, and even 2 p.m. Three more only say it was packed — quiet at 6 p.m. on a Sunday, heaving by 6:30; one seat left at Sunday lunch. Three booked ahead and walked straight in; walk-ins queue on a Tableing machine at the door (one notes no CatchTable).
  2. Eight posts came with family, three with children, and two saw high chairs; the tender shank went down well with kids. Two came as a couple.
  3. Seven posts call it good value and none call it expensive. The 11:00–15:00 lunch special knocks 2,000 won off, so the brisket doenjang hotpot is 13,000 won at dinner and 11,000 at lunch.
  4. Four posts mention storage for bags under the seats; three describe an inner room closed off by sliding doors.

Posts saying you can park5 of 25 posts

Five posts parked in the hotel's basement car park. Most say one free hour, but one says 90 minutes (October 2026) and one two hours (September 2026). One found the car park roomy, one tight; two parked at the department store and walked over.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 7 (of 25 posts read)
Lift to the floor1 of 25 posts

Seven posts place it on the ground floor from experience; none say basement. Coming up from the hotel car park you will not see it inside the building — one post says go out the hotel's front door and it is right there. One mentions taking the lift from the car park.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller got in — not even the posts with small children. That is unknown, not a yes.

The only toilet information is a copied line saying the building has separate men's and women's toilets; nobody says whether they are inside the restaurant.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Heat is disputed: four posts found it spicy, four did not, six said 'just right'. On the mild level one says there was barely any heat, another that it was hotter than expected; the one post that ordered hot found it milder than feared.
  • This is a chain branch; one post calls it a chain often seen in Seoul, and others had eaten at its Pangyo and Magok branches.
  • Of the 25 posts, two disclose sponsorship, one was a review-programme visit, one says self-paid, and 21 say nothing; the 7–20 October 2026 posts follow one template and look like a sponsored batch. Twenty-four list daily hours of 11:00–24:00, mostly copied; only one gives last orders at 23:00. Phone 0507-1482-4023; Naver booking is said to be available.
