Grill houseKorean

Obanjang

오반장 Banjang means a foreman or team leader and O reads as a surname, so the name is roughly 'Foreman Oh'; the registered name adds 1970 (ilgu-chil-gong) in front.

A charcoal-grill pork house in a back lane off Gunam-ro, between Haeundae Station and the beach. Every post calls it Obanjang rather than its registered name. Pork skirt, belly and thick-cut neck are 14,000 won a portion, beef rib finger meat 16,000 and pork jowl 17,000. Ten of the eleven visit posts describe the grill, which has a ring of egg custard cooking around the edge and kimchi and bean sprouts grilling on the far side. To finish, people mostly order a thick doenjang stew with rice and a fried egg. We read 12 posts dated December 2024 to October 2026; 11 describe actual visits (the other is a new-openings list), and ten of those eleven are from September–October 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The outdoor seating is what the posts dwell on. Six visit posts mention it, and two describe it as tables set out on gravel. One post says a single outdoor table was left at about 8 p.m. on a Saturday, and staff told them the outdoor area closes at 9:30 p.m.
  2. All five posts that reached a verdict on price found it reasonable — one says it is fair given Haveundae's prices — and none called it expensive. Four of the five carry the same 'value-for-money Haeundae BBQ' search phrase in their text, though.
  3. Three posts say they saw many foreign customers, and three note that the menu is also printed in English, Japanese and Chinese.
  4. Two posts describe the walk from the station; one says it took about ten minutes from Haeundae Station exit 5 toward Gunam-ro. The 'four minutes from exit 5' line in two other posts is copied listing text.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is bulpan gyeranjjim (불판 계란찜) — 10 of 10 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 10 posts

Only one post actually parked. It used the Hyundai or Dongbaek lots in the back lane and got parking validated. Several posts copy a line about one free hour, and one saw it on a sign outside. Nobody mentions parking at the door.

Where it is

Map showing where Obanjang is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Two posts describe the walk from the station; one says it took about ten minutes from Haeundae Station exit 5 toward Gunam-ro. The 'four minutes from exit 5' line in two other posts is copied listing text.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 10 posts

Three posts say there is indoor seating on both the first and second floors. One found the ground floor already full in the early evening. Three posts also mention walls covered with celebrity autographs.

Posts mention ground-floor, second-floor and outdoor seating; nobody says anything about a basement or the stairs up to the second floor.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Two note that the outdoor tables stand on gravel. High chairs appear only in copied listing text.

We don't know where the restroom is or whether it is separated by gender; no post mentions it.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post says it queued. One copies a notice saying there are no reservations and you put your name on a waiting list. Two describe the place as nearly or completely full. That doesn't mean there is no wait; nobody recorded how long they waited.
  • Four posts say who they went with: two with a partner or spouse, one family with a child, one group of three friends. Three posts say they had been before, including one returning after 13 years with their child.
  • Eight of the nine posts that give opening hours say noon to 1 a.m., mostly copied from the listing; one saw a notice in the shop saying there is no afternoon break. A single post from 13 October 2026, during the Busan International Film Festival, gives 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. with last orders at 3 a.m. We can't tell whether that applies only during the festival.
  • Prices come from menus photographed in September–October 2026 and don't change across those posts. Nobody gives a price for the doenjang stew, ramyeon or cold noodles, and no post totals a whole meal.
  • Two phone numbers appear: 0507-1362-8087 in three posts and 051-747-8085 in two. The claim that reservations aren't taken comes only from one copied notice.
  • One post says there is no separate ventilation, so they sat in stinging smoke, and that indoors not every table has an extractor, so the room gets smoky and smells cling. That is the only post to say so.
  • Seven of the eleven visit posts repeat the same search phrases ('value-for-money Haeundae BBQ', 'Haeridan-gil recommendation'), and they appeared almost daily from 16 to 21 October 2026. None discloses sponsorship, but they may be commissioned. Only one post says the writer paid their own way.
