HYVONG

히봉 Hibong Hy vọng is Vietnamese for 'hope' — the posts repeat that the name means hope.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A small Vietnamese pho shop on Haeridan-gil in Haeundae, Busan (58 Udong 1-ro, near exit 4 of Haeundae Station). The owner cooks alone in an open kitchen ringed by counter seats; you order at a kiosk by the door. Beef pho is 11,000 won, the extra-beef large bowl 13,000, bun cha 12,500, com suon 11,000, and the house-made fried spring rolls (6,000) were the most-ordered item. We read 30 posts from 24 July to 26 October 2026; 28 of them describe actually eating there. Four disclose sponsorship or an invitation, and many share the same hashtags and structure, so we read the set as including campaign posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All seating is at the counter. Sixteen posts say there are no tables, only bar seats; one counts room for 11, another for about 10. A party of three found sitting in a row fine. That is why nearly every post calls it an easy place to eat alone.
  2. You order at the kiosk by the entrance, as 20 posts note. Drinks are paid for there and taken from the fridge beside it — one post adds that chilled beer glasses are kept inside. One writer found the kiosk's photos easier than the paper menu.
  3. Nine posts say food comes out fast even with one person cooking — one timed it at five minutes after ordering, another had three dishes arrive almost together. No post complained of slow service.
  4. Counter-only, yet there are high chairs: 15 posts saw them and five went with children. Many also mention coat hooks by the door and aprons on the wall; one notes space under the hooks for a suitcase.

  1. Six posts call the food spicy and one is undecided. On the red pho they split between 'careful if you can't handle heat' and 'fine even for the spice-shy', and one called it only mildly hot. One writer found chili flakes even in the plain beef pho; another found the chive pho sharp.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 28 posts

There is no parking. All three posts that came by car parked at a public lot on Haeridan-gil or in Haeundae and walked. More posts copy 'no parking' or nearby lot rates into their info blocks, which we did not count.

Getting inside

Toilet inside4 of 28 posts

No one described the floor from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address and in one post's summary tag.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means unknown, not absent.

The toilet is inside the shop, per four posts — one says it is at the far end, another that it was clean. Nobody said whether it is shared or gender-separated.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one reports waiting. Several arrived right at the 11:00 opening; one watched the seats fill up after sitting down, and another heard there can be a wait but found it quiet. How long a peak-lunch wait runs is unknown.
  • Hours appear in 21 posts, mostly copied info blocks: 20 give 11:00–17:00 and one 11:00–19:00; 19 say closed Tuesdays and one (July) says Monday and Tuesday. There is no dinner service, so check before going.
  • Prices did not change over the three months. Two pho, spring rolls and a cola for two came to 31,000 won in one post; a family of three paid about 30,000. Four posts call the price reasonable; none call it expensive.
  • Many posts list the same phone number, 051-911-7669, but none say whether reservations are taken.
  • Of the 30 posts, three disclose sponsorship, one an invitation and one says self-paid. The rest are silent, but the repeated hashtag set and identical talking points suggest campaign writing, so the uniformly glowing tone should be discounted.
