Soup and riceKorean

Gukbong Subaek Jinguk

국봉수백진국 Subaek is short for suyuk-baekban, boiled pork served with soup and rice, and jinguk means a deep, long-simmered broth; the posts never explain Gukbong.

A round-the-clock pork-soup house on Haeundaehaebyeon-ro 265beon-gil, across from Haeundae Beach. Pork, sausage and mixed soups cost 11,000 won; the assorted, spicy and beef soups 12,000 won, and posts from late September 2026 put the boiled-pork set at 15,000 won. You order on a table tablet and help yourself to kimchi, radish, chives and noodles at a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts dated 23 October 2025 to 20 October 2026, all from people who ate there; three disclosed sponsorship or a hosted visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The self-serve bar defines the place: 19 posts said they went back for more side dishes or noodles. Next to the kimchi, radish, chives and raw garlic and chilli sit small bundles of thin noodles to add to your soup; one family said the children went back for noodles twice, and another writer took five bundles because each one is tiny.
  2. Ordering happens without flagging anyone down: nine posts said so, seven describing a tablet or screen at the table and two a kiosk. One noted you order at the table and pay at the counter by the door.
  3. On smell the posts barely split: 11 said the soup had no porky odour. Of the two that noticed one, one found it in the boiled pork, and the other said the soup was clean but the bone soup's meat had a smell.
  4. Sixteen posts said the bowls were full of meat; one writer could not finish the pork, another called the assorted soup heaped with toppings. None said the portions were small.
4 more
  1. The spicy soup is genuinely hot: eight posts said so, one calling it the hottest version they had eaten and another saying people with low heat tolerance would struggle. The plain broth comes without chilli paste, so you season it yourself.
  2. Food comes fast: six posts said so, one timing it under ten minutes and another comparing it to fast food. No post complained of a wait for food.
  3. It is easy on the subway: three posts described the walk from Haeundae Station exit 5, five or seven minutes, one turning off the main road at a claw-machine arcade. The '362 m' figure in many posts is copied listing data.
  4. Four posts mentioned foreign diners; one weekday 10:30 a.m. visitor thought there were more foreigners than Koreans, and another saw a foreign guest eating alone in the early evening.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 28 posts

Assume there is no lot of its own. Of the two posts that drove, one said there is no designated parking and used the Haridan-gil public lot, the other the Haeundae Plaza public lot. The 2,000-won parking credit on bills over 20,000 won appears in more than ten posts, but it is copied from the shop's notice, and one post said no parking support was given.

Where it is

Map showing where Gukbong Subaek Jinguk is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

It is easy on the subway: three posts described the walk from Haeundae Station exit 5, five or seven minutes, one turning off the main road at a claw-machine arcade. The '362 m' figure in many posts is copied listing data.

Getting inside

No post described the floor or any steps from experience; only the address says ground floor.

We do not know whether the entrance has a step or takes a wheelchair or stroller. Nobody wrote about it, which is not the same as there being a problem.

We do not know whether the toilet is inside the shop. One post said it was clean; separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing data.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on size split: three posts called it spacious, one found it smaller than expected and doubted a group of six would fit, and one said it is not big but has enough seats. Three described a long, narrow room; one counted about ten tables seating two to six.
  • Waiting barely comes up. One post queued, behind about five groups in early January 2025, and got in quickly; another walked straight in. Several said it was busy at weekday noon, dinner or late lunch without mentioning a queue, and two came here to avoid the line at the soup place across the street.
  • Prices rose once: posts from December 2025 and June 2026 list the boiled-pork set at 14,000 and bone soup at 13,000 won, while posts from late September 2026 list 15,000 and 14,000. The basic soup stayed at 11,000 won; one September 2026 post alone wrote 12,000 for the mixed soup. A meal of one bowl runs 11,000 to 12,000 won.
  • Twenty posts gave the hours as 24 hours and ten added that it never closes, but most of that is copied listing data. Actual visits were at 9, 10 and 10:30 a.m., noon, early evening and 7 p.m.; only one post mentions eating there late at night.
  • The same promotional lines recur: many September and October 2026 posts repeat a 2025 consumer-award banner, a 10% discount for soldiers, firefighters and police, a free drink or size-up for posting a review, and the parking credit. Only three posts disclosed sponsorship, but we treat these lines as the shop's own claims and did not count them.
  • One post went in with a dog: call ahead and they set aside a seat, and bring a carrier. It is a single report.
  • One summer visitor said the air conditioning was too weak and they sweated through the meal; no other post mentioned cooling.
  • More than ten posts give the phone number 0507-1377-8801. Reservations appear only in copied listing data; no post said they booked.
