YAKINIKU SHOSHIN
야끼니꾸 쇼신 Yakkinikku Syosin Yakiniku is Japanese for grilled meat, the charcoal tabletop-grill beef this house serves; the posts never explain what 'Shoshin' means.

A Japanese-style yakiniku spot on the ground floor of an alley behind Gwangalli Beach in Millak-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan. Each seat has its own small charcoal brazier; many posts were told to grill beef tongue first and work clockwise, finishing with chicken neck, and Orion draught beer is the drink that comes up most. Since May 2026 the platter is sold as small, medium (400 g) and large (90,000 won); in 2025 it was a 70,000-won assortment for two. There is a counter plus tables for four and six. We read 30 posts dated 26 March 2025 to 17 September 2026; 29 describe an actual visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Seventeen posts drank Orion on draught; some noticed Orion kegs stacked at the door and the brand on the paper lanterns. One was told by staff to drink it right away, another advised ordering it once the food arrives. It was 8,000 won in May 2025 and 8,500 won from October 2025.
- Nine posts went with a booking (CatchTable or Naver). Queuing is mixed: one post waited, on a weekend at 6 pm in October 2025; two walked straight in. A December 2025 post heard that bookings had been paused for a while because of no-shows.
- Dates dominate: eight posts went with a partner or spouse. Three went with family (a mother, a husband and dog, a family trip), two went alone, one with a friend. Both solo diners said grilling alone at the counter felt natural.
- Seven posts found the portions generous, one noting the meat was stacked so more kept appearing underneath. One post disagreed: two men found the 400 g medium platter not enough and added oxtail.
2 more
- Thirteen posts called the staff or owner kind. Explanations of how to grill each cut come up again and again; one diner was handed a hair tie while eating ramyeon, another got a lean piece of beef to grill for her dog.
- Four posts describe walking from exit 1 of Gwangan subway station, putting it at just over 10, about 10, and 12 minutes. One gives buses 38, 41, 62, 83, 83-1 and 108 to Gwangalli Beach and a 7-minute walk. The sand is about two minutes away on foot.

Parking

Three posts said in their own words that the restaurant has no parking of its own and pointed to nearby paid lots or the beach's public lot. Rates such as 4,000 won an hour at Jeil parking were copied from listings, and a few listings saying 'parking available' were not counted.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
Four posts describe walking from exit 1 of Gwangan subway station, putting it at just over 10, about 10, and 12 minutes. One gives buses 38, 41, 62, 83, 83-1 and 108 to Gwangalli Beach and a 7-minute walk. The sand is about two minutes away on foot.

It is at street level: five posts wrote in their own words that they entered on the ground floor off the alley. Some found the sliding wooden door hard to spot.
We don't know whether a wheelchair can get in. One post thought there might be a step right in front of the door but wasn't sure. Another, visiting with a dog, was glad to have brought a detachable stroller, since the space between tables was tight. Nobody mentions a ramp or lift — which means no one wrote about it, not that there isn't one.
Four posts said from experience that the toilet is inside the restaurant. One noted it is shared by men and women; none said it is separated. Two found it clean.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- On price, most lean favourable: four posts called it good value (two people full for 70,000 won), one said it is not cheap, one found drinks pricey but the meat fair. The platter has changed name and price, though: 70,000 won for two in 2025, 65,000 won for a 450 g set in March 2026, and small/medium/large since May 2026 (large 90,000 won). Only a few posts from May 2026 on reflect current prices.
- Size is disputed: four posts found it small, one found it roomy. One post counted two four-person tables and one six-person table in the back room.
- Three posts found no off-flavour; one disagreed, saying the marinated rib meat had a faintly fishy, sour smell (September 2025 visit).
- Opening hours have changed. Posts up to March 2026 give 5 pm to 3 am with last orders at 1 am (four June 2025 posts say 4 pm on weekends); from April 2026 it is 5 pm to 1 am, last orders 11 pm (one April post says midnight). Closing days vary too: none (June 2025), Tuesday (one July 2025 post), Sunday (three posts, December 2025 to March 2026), and daily opening in an August 2026 listing — yet one post visited on Sunday 1 March 2026. Only one August 2026 post states the 11 pm last order from experience; the rest are copied listings. Check before going.
- The pet policy may have changed. A December 2025 post brought a dog and was seated in the back, and 2025 listings said pets were welcome; an August 2026 listing says no pets.
- Many posts copy the same phone number, 0507-1472-6650, but nobody booked by phone; bookings were made through CatchTable or Naver, and a March 2026 post says sets are prepaid when booking.
- There are two batches of near-identical posts: six from May–June 2025 that all ordered the same platter and quote the owner's blurb verbatim, and four from May–June 2026 sharing the slogan 'a little Japan in Gwangalli, no plane ticket needed' and the same meat-grade copy. None disclose sponsorship, but they may be commissioned. Claims about 1++ Korean beef, US Prime grade and Wednesday tongue deliveries are the restaurant's own words and were not counted.
