TAOFAN

Compiled from 16 blog posts read in fullSources →
Taofan is a Hong Kong-style wonton noodle and dim sum shop on Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 279beon-gil in Millak-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, in the lane behind the Sealand fish market. You sit at a bar around an open kitchen and order by scanning a QR code at your seat. Posts after the 24 April 2026 renewal list shrimp wonton noodles at 9,900 won, char siu noodle soup at 12,900, har gow at 8,900 and chive-shrimp dumplings at 9,500. Before the renewal, February posts had shrimp wonton noodles at 11,800, char siu noodles at 12,800, a 19,000-won set, and fried eggplant, char siu rice soup and fishcake soup dumplings at the centre of the menu. The claim that it belongs to Haeundae's Dimtao is hearsay and we don't rely on it. We read 30 posts dated 18 February to 21 August 2026; 16 describe an actual visit. We set aside 2 about other restaurants, and did not count 1 listicle entry and 11 posts stamped from the same template.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Seating is bar only. Nine posts say so — every seat is at the counter, there are no regular tables. February posts and May–July posts after the renewal agree, so the layout survived the renewal. Groups wanting to sit face to face should look elsewhere. Posts describing table spacing or a separate inner room came from the template batch and were not counted.
- Nine posts say the bar wraps an open kitchen, so you watch noodles being boiled and dim sum steamed in front of you; one describes the char siu being sliced to order.
- You order on your phone via a QR code (one post also mentions NFC) stuck to your seat — nine posts say so. One March visitor couldn't find a menu until staff pointed to the QR code; a May post thought the owner would take orders in person for older diners. One post notes you pay at the end.
- Side pickles are self-serve — zha cai, chilli oil, stir-fried mustard greens. One post only spotted the side-dish station on the way out to pay, having missed it entirely; look for it when you come in.
5 more
- No post reports waiting. Three say they walked straight in — a quiet Saturday 12:30 in February, first customers at noon on a May Saturday (it filled up soon after), and an empty early evening in July. Posts do mention a queue-ticket machine and waiting seats at the door, and two booked ahead through Naver.
- Four posts say you can charge your phone at the bar, from chargers kept in a display shelf. Several also mention a coat rack.
- Three posts saw high chairs on site. Even with bar-only seating, some visitors came with children.
- Five posts call the fried items crisp — three of them about the shrimp-stuffed fried eggplant, the others about the dumplings and the fried dumpling on the dry noodles.
- Two posts say barley tea is served in place of water; one February visitor was asked hot or cold and given a whole bottle.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 1 of 16 posts |
|---|
No post describes the floor first-hand; only the address says 1st floor. That isn't evidence otherwise — just that nobody wrote about it.
Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pram. With bar-only seating the stools may be high, but no post says so.
One post notes a restroom inside, at the back. A single post's info block lists it as unisex, but no one described it first-hand.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 12 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-07-01 | 2 posts in one day |
|---|---|
| 2026-06-30 | 2 posts in one day |
| 2026-06-28 | 2 posts in one day |
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes getting there by subway or bus; they only say it's walkable from Gwangalli Beach.
- Nine post-renewal posts give the same hours: 10:30–20:30 with a 15:00–17:00 break (mostly copied info blocks). Five put lunch last order at 14:30, one at 14:00. February posts listed Tuesdays as closed; from May they say open daily. An August listicle copied 10:00–21:00.
- A post from 2 July later added that as of 24 July 2026 Taofan had been closed for some time, reason unknown. No post says it has shut for good, but none describes a visit after 24 July. Check that it's open before you go.
- Prices split at the April renewal: shrimp wonton noodles were 11,800 won in two February posts and 9,900 won in four posts from May on. Two posts found it pricey — one overall, one about the dim sum. One February post records 30,800 won for two (set A plus char siu rice soup).
- Two phone numbers appear: 010-7922-6572 in four posts (May–July) and 0507-1463-2844 in three (February–May). Visitors who booked did so through Naver; none mention phoning.
- Eleven posts published 20 June–1 July 2026 share the same phrases in the same order and the same ending. They give almost no prices and describe table spacing and white interiors that contradict every other post, so we didn't count them.
