SOSUL

소설상재 Soseol Sangjae One post relays the house's story that the name comes from a small snowy pass that lit the way for travelling merchants; the wooden sign outside reads SOSUL.

A Chinese-food drinking spot one block in from Gwangalli Beach, on a side street in Millak-dong. It opens at 6 p.m., runs into the small hours, and serves shareable dishes such as chilli-topped yuringi chicken, seafood scorched-rice soup, Sichuan sweet-and-sour pork and jjamppong to go with drinks. Prices in the posts are 17,000 won for small plates and 22,000–25,000 won for regular ones. We read 15 posts from June 2025 to September 2026; 13 describe an actual visit. One was about the dessert shop next door and was set aside, and one only linked to the place. Two posts give the address as Gwangan-ro 61beon-gil 55, which is the same corner building.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Free starters arrive when you sit down. Five posts mention them, usually sugared roasted peanuts and pickled radish; one also got stir-fried mushrooms.
  2. The yuringi was ordered in six of the 13 visits, more than any other dish, and comes buried under a pile of green chillies. Six posts called the fried coating crisp; one said it soaks in the soy dressing and is chewy rather than crisp.
  3. You order from a device rather than a server: two posts mention table tablets and one a kiosk, which had photos and descriptions of each dish.
  4. There is both counter seating and tables, according to two posts, with more tables than expected. One found the room larger than it looks, with a semi-separate area and space for groups. Two posts said it was quiet enough to talk.
1 more
  1. One post had a window table with a view of the beach, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. as the sun went down. No other post mentions the sea view.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 13 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 13 posts

No post says which floor it is on or whether there are steps; the '1st floor' in the address is just the registered address.

No post mentions a step at the door or wheelchair or stroller access. That means we don't know, not that there is none.

One post says the toilets are inside, separated by gender, each a single stall, so you knock if the door is shut. It is the only post that describes them first-hand.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 14 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Portions divide opinion: three posts found them generous, while one said a pepper stir-fry and egg noodles were a little short for two.
  • We don't know about waits. One post described the system (name and number on weekdays, queuing outside on weekends) but walked straight in on a weekend. One mentions waiting seats outside. No post records actually waiting.
  • No one described getting there by subway or bus; 'Gwangan Station exit 3, 13 minutes on foot' appears only in a copied info block.
  • Four posts went with friends, two with a partner and one with a group of five colleagues. No post went with children.
  • Opening hours: all posts say 6 p.m. Six give closing as 3:50 a.m., two as 4 a.m., and four give last orders at 2:50 a.m., all copied from info blocks. One visitor in May 2025 said they were turned out at 3.
  • Dish prices run 17,000–25,000 won, and two posts called them reasonable. No post gives a total bill with drinks. Jjamppong soup was 20,000 won on a March 2026 menu and 25,000 won as a 'whole squid and abalone' version in July; we can't tell if that is a price rise or a different dish.
  • Several posts give the phone number 051-755-5009. Only one mentions reservations, advising groups to call ahead; no one says whether small parties can book.
