Red Beryl's

레드베릴즈 Redeuberiljeu Red beryl is a rare red gemstone; the shop carries the name with a red sign and a red-and-white interior.

Red Beryl's is a dessert café in Millak-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, a short walk up an alley from Gwangalli Beach at the entrance to Millak Alley Market. You pick house-made tart slices and petit cakes from the showcase to eat with coffee or take away; whole cakes and the marshmallow-bear tart are pre-ordered and picked up. On the December 2024 menu tart slices ran 7,500–8,500 won; a January 2026 post paid 8,700 won for a chocolate-strawberry tart and 4,000 won for an iced Americano. We read 19 posts from December 2024 to September 2026; 17 describe an actual visit (one ate delivery at home, one only introduced the place).

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The shop keeps a dog. Five posts mentioned it, and the name that comes up is Sangu. Posts saw it asleep on its cushion or keeping a shy distance; it is not always there — one visitor noted it happened to be absent that day.
  2. Two posts brought their own dogs. One said the owner gave her dog a treat, and added that because the shop is small, a calm dog is fine but a barking or aggressive one would bother other guests.
  3. Seven posts took something away. Many went to collect a pre-ordered whole cake, lettering cake or bear tart; one noted two cake slices were boxed at no extra charge. Two posts saw the 1,000-won takeaway discount on drinks in the shop.
  4. Four posts called it quiet — tucked in an alley away from the busy beachfront, a place to sit and talk or rest. One post noted there is no sea view.

  1. Six posts found the owners kind. One knocked over a small cactus while getting up; the owner asked whether she was hurt and cleaned it up. Another said orders were brought to the table and only returning trays was self-service.

One post wrote about parking from experience: it used the Millak Beach Park on-street public lot across the road and said parking makes the trip hard. The 'no parking' lines in other posts are copied listing info.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 17 posts read)

No post described the floor from experience. The address says ground floor, but nobody mentioned stairs or levels on the way in — we simply do not know.

Nobody said whether the entrance has a step or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That is not a no — no one wrote about it.

Only one post mentioned the toilet: it is not inside the café, and you take a key to use it outside. Nobody said whether it is gender-separated or how big it is.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Accounts of the size differ: three posts found it roomy, four found it small. Table counts also disagree — about four (July 2025) versus around ten (June 2025). Several posts agree there are two- and four-person tables.
  • Sweetness splits: two posts found the desserts not too sweet, one found the chocolate-strawberry tart very sweet (and liked it). Two posts said the cream was not heavy.
  • No post described getting there by subway or bus. Posts only place it: walk in from Gwangalli Beach past the Millak raw-fish centre to the market entrance, opposite Seokhwachon.
  • No post reported waiting; one said explicitly there was no queue. What runs out is the stock: one late visitor found only tarts left, another found the strawberry cream tart sold out. One post said afternoons are always busy.
  • Who people came with does not cluster: alone, with friends, with family and a dog, and on a date each appear once. Many posts came for a birthday cake.
  • One post (July 2025) said each person must order a drink; no other post mentioned it.
  • Thirteen posts gave opening hours, mostly copied and slightly inconsistent. Most say it opens at 11:30, one says 11:00. Nine say closed Wednesdays; two say days off change monthly. Posts up to July 2025 have Friday–Saturday closing at 22:00; from October 2025 they say 21:30. A single September 2026 post lists Sunday–Tuesday as 12:00–20:00, where a June 2026 post had 11:30–21:00 — one post is too little to call it a change. After last order, only cake takeaway is available.
  • Prices have risen. The choux-cream tart went from 7,500 won (December 2024 menu) to 8,500 (March 2026 menu); the chocolate-strawberry tart from 8,500 won (through May 2025) to 8,700 (January 2026); the bear tart from 23,000 to 25,000 won (September 2026). No post called it expensive; two said prices were fair or about market rate. One found the bear tart smaller than expected.
  • Four posts gave the same phone number, 0507-1383-7919. Whole cakes and the bear tart are reservation-only; posts booked via KakaoTalk or Instagram DM, from a week to a day or two ahead. Nobody said whether tables can be reserved.
