Nagahama Mangetsu Gwangalli-jeom

나가하마만게츠 광안리점 Nagahama is the harbour district of Fukuoka that gave its name to this thin-noodle tonkotsu ramen style, and mangetsu is Japanese for 'full moon'.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Nagahama Mangetsu's Gwangalli branch is a tonkotsu ramen shop on a side street opposite the Millak Sea Land fish market (Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 295beon-gil 4-5) — the Gwangalli outpost of the Nagahama Mangetsu in Haeundae's Haeridan-gil. You pay at a kiosk by the door, then eat at a U-shaped bar wrapped around an open kitchen. Posts give 12,000 won for the Nagahama ramen, 19,000 won for the ramen-and-gyoza set and 7,000 won for a Kirin draught; a piece of house cream cheese comes free at the end. We read 30 posts dated 9 September to 8 October 2026: 2 turned out to be about the Haeundae branch and 2 only name-checked the shop, leaving 26 actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You pay before you sit. Sixteen posts ordered at the kiosk by the entrance: you hand the printed ticket to staff, choose your noodle firmness, and cooking starts. One post says extras ordered later are paid on the way out.
  2. It is bar seating only. Seven posts say every seat is at the counter ('no tables, just a U-shaped bar around the open kitchen'), and 16 mention watching the cooks from their seat. Several note coat hooks behind the stools, and some were handed a paper apron or a hair tie. Groups sit side by side, not facing each other.
  3. Waiting depends on when you go: six posts waited, six walked straight in. Those who waited describe about 20 minutes outside and then another 10–15 on stools behind the diners, a queue that appeared right at noon after none at 11:50, and a scramble at opening. One couple waited 'tens of minutes' outside and again inside and wrote they would never return. Walk-ins came on a Friday afternoon, a weekday lunch, 7 pm on a holiday, 5 pm on a Saturday and around noon. Many posts advise joining the CatchTable remote queue before you set off.
  4. Getting called in is not the end of the wait. Seven posts describe the waiting seats — chairs on the deck out front and a row of stools inside behind the people eating. One post appreciated waiting in the air-conditioned room.

  1. Opinions on saltiness split: two posts found it too salty, two did not, and four hedged ('salty if you usually eat mild'). One diner asked and was brought extra broth to thin it, and another says staff invite you to ask when serving. One post found the weekend bowl firmer and saltier than the weekday one.
  2. Eight posts had a Kirin draught with their ramen, served in a frosted glass; one wished there were another beer on offer.

Parking

2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot2 of 25 posts

There is no parking of its own. Two posts say so first-hand: one asked the shop, was told no, and used the Millak Sea Land public car park it recommended; another went by public transport because there is nowhere to park. A third family parked under the Sea Land fish market next door — close, but pricey. Posts that merely copied a 'no parking' info line were not counted.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No one described which floor it is on from experience; the address says ground floor, and no post mentions stairs.

We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in, and no one mentioned the height of the bar stools. That is an absence of reports, not a confirmed barrier.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside the shop. One post called it clean; 'separate men's and women's toilets' appears only in copied amenity lists, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post went by public transport, saying it is about a ten-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach. Directions from Gwangan Station exit 3 and bus numbers appear only in copied info and were not counted.
  • Fourteen posts agree on opening hours of 11:00–20:30 with last orders at 20:00. Four give a 15:30–16:30 break on weekdays only, but one says 15:00–16:30 and one lists closing as 22:30; a Saturday visitor found no break. Many of these are copied info blocks, one post found it closed early after selling out, and no post mentions a regular day off.
  • No post called it expensive; one said the prices were easy on the wallet. Ramen plus a draught beer comes to 19,000 won, the gyoza set plus rice to 20,500 won — all figures from September–October 2026 posts.
  • Seven posts give the phone number as 051-759-1914 (one has 1917). No one mentions phone reservations; what posts describe is CatchTable — a kiosk out front and remote queueing by app.
