Maniju

마니주 Maniju sounds like Busan-dialect 'mani ju' (많이 주), 'give plenty' — two posts read the name as a promise of generous portions.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

An eel house on the second floor of a building full of seafood shops, facing Millak Waterfront Park in Suyeong-gu, Busan. Dinner is freshwater eel (45,000 won per 500 g), sea eel (35,000 won) or hagfish (85,000 won per kilo); lunch is a freshwater-eel set (23,000 won weekdays, 26,000 won weekends) or a grilled-fish set (15,000 / 18,000 won), each with around twenty side dishes. We read 30 posts dated 14 March to 7 October 2026; two were about other restaurants, and all 28 remaining describe actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You don't grill. Sixteen posts describe dinner eel being par-grilled by staff over charcoal at a station by the door or in the middle of the room, then set on embers at your table and snipped into pieces; four posts say the lunch sets arrive fully grilled. Posts keep mentioning that their clothes didn't smell of smoke. Two posts note the trade-off: a short wait, longer at peak times, while the eel is grilled.
  2. It is big, with private rooms. Twenty-two posts call the hall spacious and ten saw a private room; one describes an inner group room with a microphone, another found a second hall of similar size. The '100 seats' figure is the restaurant's own claim, copied into many posts, and we don't rely on it.
  3. Side dishes are self-serve refills: twelve posts went back to the side-dish bar for banchan, lettuce and sauces. One post notes lettuce wraps don't come to the table by default; one says the bar is small at lunch, and one says staff brought refills on request instead.
  4. Nine posts found the portions large — one says a kilo is a lot for two, another fed four on a kilo. One post copied the menu's yield table: freshwater eel 500 g becomes 375 g after trimming, sea eel 300 g. Eight posts said the eel had no fishy or muddy smell.

  1. Four posts brought children. One five-year-old ate the seaweed soup, glass noodles and quail eggs; another child ate the eel because the glaze isn't spicy. One post says there are high chairs but no children's tableware.

Parking

Posts saying you can park15 of 28 posts

Parking works. Fifteen posts parked in, or noted, the restaurant's own lot across the lane. Several posts repeat that the public lot next door comes with a one-hour free coupon, but that is copied from the restaurant's notice; nobody wrote that they actually used one.

Getting inside

Second floor16 of 28 posts
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 28 posts

The restaurant is up a flight of stairs on the second floor — sixteen posts say so, and one adds there is no lift. Two posts warn that the sign you see from the car park is the back of the building; the stairs are round the front on the main road, and one diner got lost looking for them.

Sixteen posts place it on the second floor from experience; nobody mentioned any basement seating.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair — we don't know. One post says there is no lift, only stairs.

Only one post says the toilet is inside the restaurant. 'Separate men's and women's toilets' appears in several posts, but only as copied listing text, so we didn't count it.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • One post came by bus and found the stop right outside. Two posts carry the 'one minute from the No. 210 stop' line, but as copied directions; nobody wrote about coming by subway.
  • We know little about waiting. One post walked straight in around 5 pm; another waited briefly to be seated at lunch. One saw the hall fill up by 7 pm, but no post describes queuing.
  • One post disagrees on price: three put freshwater eel at 90,000 won a kilo, while a single post from 1 July 2026 wrote 95,000 won. A dinner for two — a kilo of eel plus stew and drinks — came to just over 100,000 won in one post; a group paid 377,000 won for freshwater eel, hagfish and raw sea eel.
  • Eleven posts give the same hours — 11:30 to 22:30, weekday break 15:30 to 17:00, last order 21:30, closed Mondays — but all copied from the listing; one post says Monday 10:00–22:00 and closed Tuesdays, another 17:00–22:30. Call 0507-1416-1912 to check; several posts pass on advice to book a day ahead for groups of twenty or more.
  • Fourteen posts reuse the same phrases and hashtags, such as 'only selected Korean wild sea eel and freshwater eel'. Two posts disclose sponsorship and three say they paid their own way. Claims that all eel is domestic and all side dishes are homemade are the restaurant's own lines repeated, and we don't treat them as evidence.
  • Family outings lead with seven posts, then friends (three), couples (three) and work or club groups (two).
