Jin Dwaeji Gomtang

진돼지곰탕 Jin is written with the character 眞, meaning 'true' or 'genuine'; dwaeji gomtang is a clear soup of slow-simmered pork.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

A pork-soup house on the second floor of a building on Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 284beon-gil, at the Millak end of Gwangalli Beach. The house soup—clear broth under layers of thin-sliced pork—is 13,000 won (16,000 for the large), eaten at a bar that wraps around the central kitchen. Many diners add the cold boiled pork (12,000 won small) and black-pork dumplings (3,000 won for three), and each soup comes with a free tasting slice of pork. Posts often mention the vitamin tucked under the water cup and the little pouch of mouthwash and candy handed over at the till. We read 30 posts from September 2025 to October 2026; 18 record actually eating here. Nine were about the Sasang or Busan Station branches or other restaurants and were set aside, and three were list entries we did not count.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Every seat is at the counter. Ten posts say the room is only a U-shaped bar around the kitchen; none mentions ordinary tables. One notes that with bar seats only, waits could get long; two mention the high stools. One diner at a corner seat felt awkward reaching for the shared water tap and condiments on either side. The four-person tables and self-serve side-dish bar described in some posts belong to the Sasang branch, not here.
  2. Waits vary: four posts waited, six walked straight in. The longest account joined the CatchTable remote queue at 10:50, ate at 11:20, and found nine parties ahead on arrival. Another arrived ten minutes before opening to find people already waiting, and a longtime regular wrote that on Chuseok morning 2026 they had to queue for the first time ever. The six who walked in came early or on weekdays—10 a.m. on a weekend, 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. on weekdays. There is a sign-up kiosk at the door.
  3. The most consistent remark is the absence of porky smell: nine posts say neither meat nor broth had any, one from a diner who is usually sensitive to it. None reports a smell. Saltiness splits: three found the seasoning mild, one found the noodles and pork rice salty.
  4. Five posts call the staff friendly. One says the server explained how to eat the soup when it arrived, and several describe a card at each seat setting out the order: taste the broth three times, then the steeped rice, then the pork with the house soy sauce.

Parking

2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot2 of 18 posts

There is no customer parking. Of the two posts that came by car, one used a nearby public lot because the restaurant has none, the other parked at the traditional-market public lot (300 won per 10 minutes on weekdays, 500 on weekends) and walked one or two minutes. One more post notes no parking validation. 'No parking' in other posts comes from copied info blocks.

Getting inside

Second floor6 of 18 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 6 (of 18 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 18 posts read)

We do not know how accessible the entrance is. Six posts say the restaurant is up on the second floor, but none says whether there are stairs or a lift, or a step at the door; one only remarks that it was hard going with a suitcase. No one mentions a wheelchair or stroller—that means no one wrote about it, not that it is impossible. Note too that all seating is high bar stools.

Only one post mentions the toilet: outside the restaurant, apparently for its customers only, and clean. No one says whether it is separated by gender or how big it is.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one describes getting here by subway or bus. 'Five minutes' walk from Gwangalli Beach' appears only in copied info blocks; two posts walked over from their lodging.
  • All fifteen posts that list opening hours give 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, but every one is a copied info block. Nine give last orders at 8:40 p.m.; one from October 2025 says 8:30. Only one post addresses closing days, saying there are none.
  • On price, three posts say it is fair—about what ordinary gukbap costs, reasonable for today, worth it at 13,000 won—while one finds the six-slice small cold pork a bit dear at 12,000 won and one finds the sogokju pricier than retail. Two soups and a small cold pork come to about 38,000 won, but no post gives a receipt total.
  • Seven posts give the same phone number, 0507-1468-1634. Several copy that Naver booking and CatchTable remote queuing are available, but no post actually booked ahead; two joined the queue through CatchTable.
  • Four posts were about the same-name branches in Sasang (Gwangjang-ro 20) and by Busan Station. The self-serve side-dish bar, tablet ordering, four-person tables and 11,000-won soup belong to those branches and were not counted here. No post says this restaurant has moved.
