Hwangso Haemultang

황소해물탕 Hwangso means a bull and haemultang is a seafood hot pot; none of the posts explain why the house took the name.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

A seafood hot pot and braised seafood house on the second floor of 249 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, right on Gwangalli beach (Casa Busano is on the ground floor). Four 2026 posts agree the small hot pot for two is 50,000 won, and staff cut up the seafood at your table once the pot arrives. There is no fried rice; meals end with noodles in the broth. We read 30 posts from October 2024 to October 2026; five were about other businesses (including a beef restaurant on the fifth floor of the same building) and were set aside, leaving 24 first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The window seats are the draw. Fifteen posts ate looking out at Gwangan Bridge. One notes folding doors that open fully, another watched the Saturday drone show from the front row when staff opened the windows. Window tables go first: two posts found them full and sat further in, one found none left at around 5 p.m., and one family booked ahead to get one.
  2. Once the pot lands you barely touch it. Twelve posts say staff or the owner cut up the seafood at the table; one adds that they put up a splash screen and waited until the photos were done.
  3. Fourteen posts call the portions large: a small was plenty for two, seven people were full on two mediums, four women filled up on a large with octopus. No post calls it expensive, and three say the prices are fair for a beachfront spot.
  4. Waits depend on when you come. Three posts waited: about 40 minutes around 6:30 on a Saturday evening, 10 minutes on a drone-show weekend, and one simply warning there is a queue. Four walked straight in: at 5 p.m. (twice), at 7 p.m. on a weekday, and at weekend lunch. One more says it was full and turned them away every weekend they tried.

  1. You choose the heat: posts describe mild, regular (about Shin Ramyun level) and hot, with an extra-hot step for the braised dish. Three posts found it not spicy, one even after ordering the hottest level; one called the garlic-heavy broth very punchy. A family ordered a clear, non-spicy version for the children.

Parking

3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park3 of 22 posts

Parking is at the Anjeon private lot in the alley to the left of the building. Three posts parked there themselves: one got a one-hour free stamp, one found the alley tight to drive, one describes a small lot of six to eight cars that takes cash or bank transfer only, no cards. The 'one car per table, one hour' rule is copied into many info boxes. Two posts warn that the Smart lot at the alley mouth is not covered.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 22 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 22 posts

The restaurant is upstairs. Three posts mention the second floor; one says you can take the lift or the stairs, where a large menu hangs on the stairwell wall.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in; only one mentions a lift in passing. This means unknown, not absent.

No post says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 23 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes actually arriving by subway or bus. 'About 877 m from Gwangan Station exit 3' and '10 minutes' walk from exit 5' are copied from info boxes, so we do not rely on them.
  • Opening hours are copied from info boxes, and they disagree. Six posts say Tuesday to Sunday 11:00 to midnight with Mondays 17:00 to midnight; four give 11:00 to midnight with no Monday exception (one says open every day); one says 11:30. Seven agree on last orders at 22:30. Check before a Monday lunch.
  • Prices differ by date. An October 2024 post paid 60,000 won for a three-person hot pot; a June 2026 post lists the medium (three people) at 70,000 won, but says the medium adds razor clam, live abalone and small octopus, so we cannot tell a price rise from a change in what's in it. The small at 50,000 won is consistent across four 2026 posts. One post puts a meal at 10,000 to 20,000-odd won a head.
  • Three posts give the phone number 0507-1415-4004, and one also lists 051-753-4004. One family booked a window table, but no post explains how to book. On delivery, one post was told the restaurant is now dine-in only, while another's info box says takeaway, delivery and reservations are available.
  • One post dissents: a family trip found the food just so-so and would not return. Five posts are return visits, one from a couple who say they've been coming for over seven years.
