Haeseong Makchang-jip Gwangalli-jeom

해성막창집 광안리점 Makchang-jip means a makchang house — makchang being grilled beef abomasum; Haeseong is the house's proper name, and the posts give no meaning for it.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

A grilled beef-tripe and tripe hot-pot house on the second floor of 269 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro, right on Gwangalli Beach in Busan. Posts call it the Gwangalli branch of Haeseong Makchang-jip; the registry says "main branch", but the original main branch is a different place in Jung-dong, Haeundae. Grilled cuts are 12,000 won a portion and the first order must be three portions, so a meal starts at 36,000 won even for two. Staff put the meat on the grill and cut it, then you finish grilling; fifteen posts went on to the tripe hot pot (11,000 won a portion) and fried rice (2,000 won). We read 21 posts from October 2025 to October 2026; 16 are about this place and all 16 describe a visit. The other five are about the Haeundae main branch or the Jeonpo branch and were set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The first order is three portions minimum — twelve posts record the rule. You mix makchang and daechang to reach three, then add two at a time. A hot pot after grilling is two portions minimum, or one per person if it is all you order, and noodles can only be added with the first hot-pot order. One couple made up the three with one daechang and two makchang; another post advises bringing a crew.
  2. Staff place the meat on the grill and cut it, and you take over from there — ten posts say so, two of them that staff grilled it almost all the way. One post, comparing with the Haeundae original, says here they only cut it and left.
  3. Window seats look onto Gwangan Bridge — seven posts say so, and two count four window tables. Three posts, though, say the sill is high enough to block the view while seated: one short writer saw nothing, another had to half-stand. One post waited 20 minutes for a window seat. For the 15 November 2025 fireworks the window tables were sold as paid reservations, and one post ate at one.
  4. Six posts mention a self-serve bar for side-dish refills; several list the same sides: quail eggs, fish-cake stir-fry, seaweed stems, cucumber and carrot sticks, and soy-pickled onions.

  1. Five posts say there is no off smell. Two call the daechang thick; one says the fat got to be too much.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 15 posts

One post actually used the building's tower car park and found it easy, noting electric cars are not accepted. The rest is copied info and it disagrees: 90 minutes free (two posts), one hour validated (one), and "no dedicated parking" (one).

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 15 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 15 posts read)
Lift to the floor1 of 15 posts

The restaurant is on the building's second floor (three posts). No one mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means no one wrote about it, not that it is step-free or not. One post says there is a lift; another says you have to take the stairs.

No one describes the toilets from experience. One post's info block lists separate men's and women's toilets, but that is copied listing data, so we do not rely on it.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Waits depend on when you go. Three posts waited: a Saturday-evening line on the back stairs, 20 minutes at 6:30 for a window seat, and a weekend crowd that sent one couple elsewhere. One post that arrived at the 5 p.m. opening found the place empty. The queue method also differs: one post says you line up on the stairs with no sign-up, another says you can join a waitlist on CatchTable.
  • No one writes about arriving by subway or bus. "15 minutes on foot from Gwangan Station exit 3" appears only in one post's copied info block.
  • Ten posts give opening hours, all copied from listings: mostly 17:00–24:00 Monday to Thursday and 17:00–01:00 Friday and Saturday, with seven posts saying closed Sundays (six from 2025, one from September 2026). One October 2026 post says closed Tuesdays and another lists Sunday among open days. We cannot tell whether the day off changed, so check before going.
  • Grilled cuts are 12,000 won a portion in every post. The hot-pot price varies: 11,000 won a portion in two posts (Oct 2025, Aug 2026), 12,000 won in one (Oct 2026) — one post is not enough to call it a rise. Three grilled portions plus a two-person hot pot comes to about 58,000 won.
  • Six posts give the phone number as 051-759-3116; one gives 051-755-8777 along with a different street number. One post says ordinary bookings are not taken and you queue; the only reservations mentioned are for fireworks-night tables.
  • Six posts between 20 October and 9 November 2025 all headline the place as a fireworks-viewing restaurant and repeat the same line — run directly by the Haeundae main branch — with the same info block in the same order. Only one discloses sponsorship. We treat that line as the shop's own claim, not evidence.
