동백대패 Dongbaek is the camellia, and daepae is pork shaved paper-thin, a name borrowed from the carpenter's plane.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

A shaved-pork-belly (daepae) grill in a Millak-dong side street off Gwangalli Beach, toward the Millak alley market. Two-person 600g sets (A 31,600, B 33,600, C 41,400 won) come with shrimp and scallops for the grill, and every table gets tortillas stamped with the shop's name plus perilla-leaf and chipotle sauces. Single-order belly is 3,900 won per 100g, and visitors say the self-serve bar is free. We read 13 posts from 28 August to 7 October 2026; five were about other restaurants (three on Ssodaejji, one each on Donbegi and Hanyang Daepae) and were set aside. All eight that remain describe actual meals.

Rows without a count: 2 of 5 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Of the seven posts that discussed price, five said it was good value and none called it expensive. They pointed to the 31,600-won A set, belly at 3,900 won per 100g, frozen belly at 4,000 and most sides at 3,000 to 5,000 won. One couple added 100g of frozen belly, spicy cold noodles and fried rice to the A set; their listed prices add up to 45,100 won.
  2. Two of the posts that ordered the A set said 600g was more than enough for two. Most visits mention that shrimp and scallops come with the sets.
  3. Two posts say you order on a tablet at the table. One notes the menu names are Busan-dialect puns.
  4. Three posts called it clean. One noted a ceiling hood over each table; another said they could not smell meat or smoke at all.

Parking

2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park2 of 8 posts

Two posts parked at the paid lot right next door and had the fee covered. One gives the condition as one hour for bills of 50,000 won or more; the others either left it out or were repeating what they were told. One visitor who came without a car could not confirm the lot's height limit.

Where it is

Map showing where Dongbaek Daepae is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, but no post describes the floor or any steps from experience.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits. One mentions a single floor-seating table at the back; the rest describe round steel tables.

No post mentions the toilet, whether it is inside or split by gender. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there isn't one.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Five of the eight visits repeat near-identical phrases: meat cut the same day, a free self-serve bar, more extras than places that charge for the table setting, and parking support over 50,000 won. They read like commissioned copy, though none discloses sponsorship. We treat 'meat cut the same day' as the shop's own claim and did not count it.
  • Opening hours: five posts agree on 5pm to 3am, and two give Saturday as 4pm to 4am. Last orders are at 2am (3am on Saturday). One post saw an 'open every day' notice on the door. Some of these figures were copied from the shop's listing.
  • Prices are from the September-October 2026 menu. One post ordered a '700g medium set' that matches neither the 600g nor the 1,000g sets and gave no price. Nobody recorded what soju or bottled beer costs.
  • Only one post mentions waiting: they booked for about 6pm on a Sunday and walked straight in. Nobody wrote about waits without a booking at busy times.
  • No post describes the walk from a subway station or bus stop; they only say it is near Gwangalli Beach, across from the Millak raw-fish centre on the way to the alley market.
  • Of the posts that said who they went with, three went as a couple and one with a mother. None went with a group of friends or with children.
  • Only one post gives the phone number, 010-5945-1098. One visitor booked ahead but did not say how.
