Gwangalli Sanhae Hoetjip

광안리 산해횟집 Sanhae means 'mountain and sea' (as in sanhae-jinmi, delicacies of land and sea); hoetjip is a raw-fish restaurant, and Gwangalli is the beach it overlooks.

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

Gwangalli Sanhae Hoetjip is a raw-fish restaurant on the top (8th) floor of the Punggyeong Tower seafood building, facing the public car park at Millak Waterside Park. You eat set courses priced per person in a glass-walled hall or private rooms looking onto Gwangan Bridge: course B at 50,000 won, course A at 60,000 and the special at 90,000. Fifteen of the 20 diners went for course A. The meal runs from seaweed soup and side plates through shellfish and live octopus, then sashimi, then scallop-cheese gratin, tempura and grilled eel, and ends with spicy fish stew. We read 30 posts dated April 5 to September 29, 2026; 20 of them record an actual meal.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. There is more food than people finish. Fifteen of the 20 diners said the portions were large. Course A comes with one sashimi refill, but nobody reported actually claiming it; they were too full. One post disagreed: a party of six on course B said that if you want sashimi in bulk, a plain fish market is the better bet.
  2. Shoes stay on. Four posts said so, and two of them admitted they almost took theirs off at the door.
  3. Parking is either the building's ground-floor lot or the public car park right across. Eleven posts said parking works, but the three that described the building lot put it at six spaces, under ten, or simply cramped, and the public lot fills up at weekends and peak hours. A 2,000-won parking subsidy appears in two posts, one of them a copied info block.
  4. Instead of water you get tea at the table. Three posts mentioned it, each naming a different one (corn silk, barley, oriental raisin tree). Three posts also noted coffee and candy by the door on the way out.
2 more
  1. Besides the main hall there are private rooms; eight posts mentioned them, and one said they were all taken by families and office groups on a Friday evening. Six posts described the full-height windows onto Gwangan Bridge, and several said window tables go to people with reservations first.
  2. The sashimi is cut thick; eleven posts said so, and one noticed the same fish cut at different thicknesses for texture. Fish named across posts include flounder, halibut fin, mullet, red sea bream, sea bass and tuna, rotating with the season.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 18 (of 20 posts read)
Lift to the floor5 of 20 posts

It's on the 8th floor, reached by elevator. Five posts mentioned riding it up, with the restaurant opening right off the landing.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. A 'wheelchair accessible' line appears only in one copied info block, which we don't count. That means we don't know, not that it's inaccessible.

No post said whether the toilets are inside the restaurant or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-04-062 posts in one day
2026-04-052 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Nobody described arriving by bus or subway. One post just noted a bus stop in Millak within walking distance; another said it's a 10–15 minute walk from Gwangalli Beach. Most writers came by car.
  • Only one post mentioned waiting: a party of five who had booked were seated with no wait. Seven posts booked or recommended booking. One couple walked in without a reservation but didn't say how long it took, so we don't know the wait for walk-ins.
  • Opening hours only appear in copied info blocks, and they disagree: 11:00–23:00 in ten posts, 11:30–22:50 in four (all from September), and 11:30–22:30 with a 15:00–16:00 break in two. September posts still list 11:00–23:00 too, so we can't tell when or whether hours changed. No post gives a closing day.
  • The only prices given are course prices; course A held at 60,000 won from April to September, and seven posts called it good value for the amount. Drinks cost extra, and one post advised budgeting above the course price. Three posts mentioned a review promotion that gets you a free bottle of soju or a soft drink.
  • The phone number 0507-1389-7718 comes from copied info blocks. Writers booked through Naver or by phone, and one said a Naver booking comes with a free drink.
  • A lot of these posts are promotional. Four disclosed sponsorship or payment, and most of the rest don't say either way. Four posts from April 5–6 end with the same six hashtags and say nothing about what was eaten or what it cost; we didn't count them. Two paid posts describe glancing at the menu outside and walking in, which doesn't fit a restaurant on the 8th floor, so we didn't count those either. Five posts share an identical block of 16 hashtags but do record real meals, so those count. TV appearances and celebrity regulars are the restaurant's own claims, and we don't rely on them.
